Suing a shelter?!? Oh my. They have no money to begin with and are nonprofits. The one I worked at did everything they could to reunite animals with owners or past owners. Because there is no space.
Lately there are so many people leaving animals at the gate during off hours. Come to work to find a box of puppies, or a box of kittens dumped over the fence.
People brought in animals as "strays" when clearly it was their pet because they didn't want to pay the surrender fee. We had one that was so sick and dying from cancer, but we couldn't help her for three days because she was a "stray" and there's a hold in case the owner shows up. She suffered for three days because the owner couldn't do the right thing. And took the easy way out. |
