I rode him yesterday, briefly practicing dressage maneuvers. It was an okay ride but definitely not the best so I gave him a bit of a break from riding today. I lunged him in side reins to encourage him to stretch through his back. They were loose enough that he could really go low and he did just that. He really loves to extend his neck and move out. After that I clipped the side reins up and asked him to go over a few bigger jumps to see what he'd do. He was an absolute champ! The first 2 pictures below are at 2'9" and the last one is at 3'. I know he doesn't have boots on but I honestly didn't even think about it until after. He only went over the jumps 6 times. Twice at 2'9" and 3' and once at 2'6" and 2'3"

Figured I'd also update on Baloos feed. It's changed quite a bit since I last talked about it. This is what he gets 1x bucket of alfalfa cubes 1x scoop of Total Equine grain 1x scoop of race horse oats 3x scoops of Daily Gold calming supplement 1x ounce of Acti-flex joint supplement 1 pound of Purina Amplify weight, coat and muscle supplement 3x scoops of flax seed

No pictures since everyone was occupied with horses lol but I went and rode sale horses this morning. One OTTB that was a total angel (if you're in TX and looking for a prospect pm me lol) he was just like riding Baloo and not to mention extremely cute. Anyway, this evening we rode. I worked on a little crossrail with a canter pole before and after to work his booty a little then went into some verticals. Today was the first time I've ever jumped him undersaddle at 2'9". We did it one time just to see and he was wonderful! He is starting to find his own strides and he really lifts up and stretches over nicely. Our flat work has improved a million in the past few days too. So so proud of him and how he's progressing!

Prancing Pony Stable said: Veterna Springs said: He is still skinny and kinda funny looking but he is cute undersaddle. My trainer liked him to which was super cool considering he is a cheap, average OTTB gelding and she has high class Gypsy Vanners and 2* event horses lol. Baloo is hard not to like xD
That really is amazing <3 I wish you the best of luck with him! :D
If you want to improve his coat buy a sack of plain linseed and cook it for him it gets there coats looking amazing

Veterna Springs said: Full body image. He doesn't look great but I promise he is so so so much better. He is on tons of fattening feed and is being exercised to muscle up. Also his name looks dorky because it was in braids so it would learn to fall to one side so ignore that lol
Are you giving him oats
