Thank you, you two - but I did actually name him awhile back. His name is now Eli :)
Hey all! Just wanted to update everyone again! Eli got "ponied" (being led by someone who is on another horse) on the trails yesterday, and he was awesome!! Can't wait for this guy to gain some weight so I can ride him! I'm unbelievably excited to find out what he knows.

Have you tried seeing if he knows any tricks or other unexpected skills? If he has had show training, someone may have taught him other little things too. It is amazing to see you relationship develop!

I'm going to steal him, there's no way you can stop me, or maybe I'll trade you a packet of chocolate chip cookies for him. He is so beautiful, a late congrats and I hope you have the best of luck with him.

Snorting at the boys in the pasture - so fancy! http://i64.tinypic.com/2rom1xt.jpg He definitely loves to long trot and reach! http://i67.tinypic.com/dlqe0i.jpg Stretch and impulsion! http://i68.tinypic.com/207w21w.jpg And a nice trot with a heck of a hind end! http://i65.tinypic.com/e0j50j.jpg Edited at October 24, 2017 08:39 AM by Nippy Equine

That horse was a major find. Can't believe that's where he ended up. Holy cow. I can tell you're a proud Mama lol and you have every reason to be.

Bristol - I can't imagine why in the world he got dumped! He's so observant, intelligent, and always tries so hard! I'll have to take photos when I long line him tonight. Man, as soon as I ask for him to even TRY to collect, he rounds out and turns into a powerhouse. It's mind blowing!!

Unfortunately a lot of horses just get "lost". It's possible that whoever owned and trained and apparently showed him had some family health emergency or financial troubles. Maybe they had to get rid of all the stock and he ended up with someone who wasn't up for horse ownership and he got shuffled to the pen. It's one of the things that makes me second guess having a breeding operation.
