100% agreed B. It depends on the trainers and owners of the horses.

Well. The idea of saddleseat and other stuff like it aren't abuse necessarily. But the training methods to win competitively very much seem like it.

I think it kind of varies honestly. When it comes to saddleseat because the horses trot like that on their own. It can be abusive though.

Oh while we are on this subject. I also hate saddleseat. Like a lot of people defend that it isn't abuse or hurting the horses.. Maybe it's just me, but if I were a horse, I would hate that.

They are another popular breed to use too. They are both gated horses.

I've been looking at new show jackets and I have noticed some definite trends.
What's with the three button vs four button jackets? The more expensive jackets seem to have the four buttons

And why are soft shell jackets so common, wouldn't they look really shiny or be really warm?

Eh, the 3 vs 4 buttons is more of an aesthetic preference for some people. 4 buttons makes your torso look longer, and I see it more in Dressage coats and in the jumper ring. 3 button coats are considered more traditional, and are more common in the hunter and equitation rings.
I actually really like the soft shell style coats, because the fabric is very breatheable! (Tho not quite as breathable as the mesh coats) Much better than the old-fashioned wool coats, now THAT was hot. And the shininess depends on the brand and the style. A lot of soft shell coats are no more shiny than traditional fabrics, while others have a little more glint to them, if you want to stand out ;)

I do eventing, and I like the 3-button show jackets better. The fabric for the soft shell is very breathable too.
