lucky!! for shows i would have to get up at like 4 am get everyone in the trailer (and feed the others) before 5 drive an hr get there a 6 walk the course saddle up and show at 7. I know I'll miss showing but the winter is good to practice, step up your game, and jump higher. during show season I'm not allowed to jump much higher than 2"3 cause my girl would get fast and excited so I love winter riding, you have no limits.

Ok so here's kinda an update as far as riding! - I'm trying out something new this winter to help check for training gaps, and just to switch up our daily routine and give his mind something new. So here's the long term goal: completely bridleless pattern work. This is a goal i'm working towards slowly in the long run, I have no rush on it, it's just kinda a goal to work towards for fun, while also enforcing some cool training buttons on him! For background reference, I usually always ride him in a bridle, but try to use all leg, only rein for corrections he's still learning the leg cue for. I'm starting this process by 1-2 times a month beginning to ride bit less. This gives me an idea of what spots need more help, as I can't "babysit" him as much (quick background: we're training him for pleasure. pleasure horses are super seat/aid sensitive so just a tiny movement of my hand along with a combination of a leg cue can completely bring together his whole movement/gait. so removing the bit from this combination removes a little bit of a safety net for him as it's not as clear of a cue, it's mainly leg pressure only.) After a few months to when he's moving completely off leg only, and no hand, I'm going to slowly work towards bridless rail work and go from there. I'm not going to post picture/videos quiet yet, as I'm waiting to for a comparison of our progress in a few months! Don't really have much to post, so just figured I'd do an update!

that is a great goal!!! ive honestly always been to scared to ride with out a bridle (mainly bc i got giant warmbloods with lots of energy) i could probably ride my qh without one tho. my goals are to jump higher and finally be able to ride my mare bareback i usually do ride my horses bareback at least once a month her trots just so bouncy.

Anddddd the dork does it again 🥸2020-2021 Grand Champion Overall in our age group, 2020-2021 Reserve Champion Overall Halter Horse, and I believe we're overall exhibitor as we were the only combo to receive more than 1 high point! ❤️This was from a winter series we did last winter! We also found out that we're Reserve Champion Overall Trail, and Reserve Champion Overall Western Pleasure (Placing top 5 year end overall in all of our classes) at our breed show circuit we did this summer! 🥳
