They usually eat rats. But they can be picky. I have a friends who only eats white mice. It is insane.

So yes and no. I have been able to successfully switch most of the rescue snakes too frozen off live. Frozen is safer for the snake. Rodents fight lol

I've heard some snakes only eat live and not frozen, or vice versa. They usually eat on or the other, right?
My mother works as a zookeeper, and they raise guinea pigs as reptile food. My current guinea pigs were adopted from the zoo :)

I try to only do frozen/thawed. My two current snakes are pets and are both on frozen/thawed.
Rats/Mice are raised and euthanized humanely. I am lucky enough to be able to buy local for both of my snakesÂ’ feeders.
