Hello artists! I wanted to put out a poll guaging interest in an art contest with at least $5 million in prizes. I am looking to expand my variety of stable sets and thought a contest might be a good way to do so. Woud you like to participate? Let me know below! Also, let me know how long you think the contest should last. Poll Question: Would you like to participate?Total Votes: 21
Yes! : | 20 | 95% | | No thank you : | 1 | 5% | | You have cast your vote. Edited at April 13, 2024 06:28 PM by Hummingbird Meadows

For me, I can sell my pieces at auction for 2-3+ mil, so I may be hesitant to enter if the 2nd or 3rd place prize is "only" 1 mil because I feel like it could've sold for more. Does anyone remember the good ol' days when the largest art contest price was 500k (WHICH WAS A CRAZY AMOUNT OF MONEY)?

That is some good input that I appreciate. So, maybe with the change in the economy $5 million isn't enough for an art contest? If the first prize was 2 mil I'd probably enter if I had time! However if the others are less, I wouldn't be happy with anything other than first. I know that sounds really bad, but that's what I see from an artists perspective.

It could be I just need to wait until I have more money saved to have a bigger prize amount.

i both agree and disagree with these statements. at the time that Sage was talking about high ABLB straws were worth 150k at most now they've doubled for the same LB position. however the largest prize money for an art contest at the moment is 500k so i think you would still get a lot of interest at 5 mil.

I mean more what type of interest! Everyone will definitely love this chance, however Tier 1 artists are usually pretty busy so they may need the extra incentive, if that's the level of art you're looking for.

I'm busy with art commissions but would totally enter this in my free time, if possible! Just maybe give like a month to enter?
