what I usually do is if they walk up to me I act like they aren't there after a couple seconds I walk over to my friend group and start a conversation
that usually breaks their attempts to talk to me

I've also found just looking someone straight in the eyes and saying "I don't like you." is a pretty good way to stop them from talking to you again.

I find ignoring/walking away from people works pretty well. Start conversations with others when they try to start one with you. Just sort of shut down their attempts for contect
