I had an older account before this one but either I deleted it or it got deleted. I started this one in 2018 and I only bred for color. I cared NOT about ratings. Just getting less than 1 in 100 rarity. My favorite stallion Color Thrower was 1 of 1 color rarity and got used a LOT. I tried tracing his babies to see if I could restart his lines, but all his babies must have died/been free-ranged (when I was looking, about 2 years ago). I let my premium run out for right now, but I don't think I have any straws on him.

When I joined, I believed that in order to get horses to train to have the strengths you wanted, you needed to train them in SD; for example one of my foundation boys Dream Catcher was trained in XC for his life because I believed to get rid of weaknesses you just needed to train them in SD rather than AD. Additionally, I had no concept of ebs or items yet. I once had an EEE x EEE match result in an SSS, and it cost me 50k. To my noob self, that was clearly the end of the world, and I couldn't understand when stables piped in about svens and how much those cost etc. Imagine now, me svenning every match across most of my accounts and expecting flops- I think my early self would have had a heart attack, LOL.

Something that's stuck with me all these years: my first three-month upgrade expired, and I was so hooked on the game that I tried to sell my first and only PPP (top rating at the time) for upgrade EBs. I was so proud of her but I was also a broke college kid and couldn't put in the RL money at the time, so I listed her for enough to buy myself an upgrade. I had written something in her remarks about how much I loved her but she had to go. One of the former mods and greatest human beings ever sent me the upgrade EBs out of nowhere and told me to keep my baby. Trexsky, if you ever stop in and see this, I did not forget and have been paying it forward since <3

EEP was the best I could do back then, the day one of my matches popped out an EEE filly my goodness i became obsessed with her, hand drew art for her, only to go on a long ass hiatus before she even retired.
now I've come back and there's a whole new rating, plus bravery, and bunch of little changes like the quest Center instead of quests being automatically assigned as you finished them. Oh and 1.2m ebs that has slowly been accumulating as i kept the account from deletion. I've promptly spent it all getting caught back up into the game 😂

I had a similar start to the game! Referral in 2012. I remember grinding for In Cahoots, Choo Choo Charlie AND The Time Warp AND Rosswood Heaven of God foals. Jeri was basically GOD with the great horses they produced, their art was also so good and hard to get! Also, I remember Full Stride Farm, they were a major idol for me as well, they gave so much advice and helped me along in the game. Shame I didn't keep that (I had sooo many barns) or the many other accounts I created and lost prior to this one. Stormsong Manor said: I'll share my story because it amuses me. In early 2011, I had a longtime online horsey friend send me the link for me to sign up so she could get the referral EBs. I caught a smokey cream warmblood stallion, god awful rating, was so proud of him. Showed him to my friend and she told me he was shit and gave me a basic explanation of how ratings worked. As soon as I got familiar with the competition aspect of the game, I was hooked. I originally bred WBs and TBs, then just WBs, then RID, then finally the evil ponies. Jeri was my artistic inspiration and I joined the art scene with minimal experience in digital illustration (college was BFA graphic design and art history, and I was an oil painter). Picked up a wacom tablet and went from there. I was pretty out of control in chat once that feature started up, but I've done SOME growing up since then. And for anyone who remembers 12 RL years ago, TBs and WBs ruled the world, and I would grind hard for In Cahoots and Choo Choo Charlie straws. Nothing has changed much in that regard, because twelve years later I'm still grinding for every straw I buy due to my constant level of brokeness from capturing.
