So 4 up wk4 is good for mares. Not so great for stallions. It is on the weakish side for WWW. Sorry I'm showing and kinda watching chat.

Less freefloating money out there with the FR cap reduction. I know it's been several RL years and I cannot speak for everyone, but some players have started to deplete their accounts and can't afford to spend on frivilous things. My KNN account is coming to the end of being able to afford svens; even selling embryos to #1KNN mare barely makes ends meet because there's so few who even breed KNN. So it's really multifactor now all stacking up. Unless you're an artist yourself, have LB horses that can sell broods/straws, or you can have a large amount of geldings there's really no way to keep the income coming in strong. With LB straws averaging 200k-300k per, with 3+ breedings a month, and then also trying to afford items it takes a toll.

^^ Lost hit the nail on the head. And becuase of this I JUST now got me a 100 head of SD geldings to fiddle around with. Hopefully I won't be as bad at showing XD

I definitely understand this. I used to have hundreds of FR foals a year and they were how I afforded things. When the ban was implemented, I had to figure out how to show (which I am grateful for), but now I have so many foals and mares I'm trying to sell and no one will buy them. I liked that the open FR made prices for 2yo+ above 1k. Now I can barely sell foals and mares for 750 ebs. Also broods used to be so used and useful! Now I have a few good mares, and no one will brood to them even if I make it free with the use of a top stud and item! We also have barely any artists opening slots. Versa just recently started again, but Mana and Willow are really the only two artists with consistently open spots.

Unfortunately my slots are starting to slow down too lol.
If they don't pick up again, I'm going to have to rely on geldings... The trouble becomes, when I'm no longer on break from college stuff, I won't be able to keep up with HEE.
.
I, too, earned a lot from broods. Hay, lower LB stud fees, etc. Those are what funded even my matches that DIDN'T have svens. Since those foals won't sell, there comes a point at which studs lower on the boards aren't used, and broods that aren't on the boards at all are ignored. Less foals means less hay, now hay won't sell.
.
If the foals end up at 0 value or negative value (at least 750 for the breed approvals), people just won't breed them. Period. And then everything related to them, tanks. I don't know how to solve this in my case. I had a variety of things I used to do in place of geldings, but none of them are currently working.

Were people abusing the FR feature that much? It went in sometime during my hiatus and I have also noticed a big shift in the economy and the way things move. Upgrades still go for 150-175k but T4 art that used to be 5k-10k apiece(for the new artists) is now 25-40k. I make most of my ebs off selling upgrades and I have to start showing geldings because soon I won't be able to afford that with moving house. I guess if you have thirty 100-stall barns full of horses then yeah, 3mil is a lot(not really) but it seems to be making the game more difficult in a bad way? I guess it evens the playing field between established and new players.
100k just doesn't take you anywhere anymore, it's like 100k is the new 20k.

I was also on hiatus when the FR feature was taken away, and I've also noticed a huge shift. 100k is no big deal anymore.

In a way, yes. There were some stables who ended up with millions upon millions and that, itself, is crazy. I can see the trouble there and understand. I do. Genuinely.
.
However, unfortunately, even though it evens it in that aspect- I think some of the damage has already been done and it's also hurting the game more than helping in other aspects. I can't see this evening out the playing field in a good way. There is a LOT less money floating around now and although 20k may have been the intended price of a stud fee in the past, what's happening now is all of the stables earning 200 and 300k per stud fee for popular breeds (X, TB, SH), are just going to continue to sven and ask 200 to 300k for their top stallions. Sven is top of boards. While the newer stables who made profit and built up off of their studs from hundreds of foals to hundreds of mares, aren't going to be able to earn as much money because - well - those foals net a worth of 0, which makes the studs ignored. Because now it's about quality, quality, quality. Best studs, not quantity and lower studs.
.
Less foals, also means less hay purchased.
.
Really, what this is currently doing, is making it so horses have no real base value beyond 100 foals. And due to that, other things are going down in value and usage, too. It's limiting income almost purely to geldings.

I never approve my foals because of this, I only approve any keepers/horses that have good breeding because nothing is selling and I literally can't make any sort of profit. WIth capturing, it used to cost 3k, plus approval so 3750. I used to be able to sell them for 2k+ and then I'd breed a few foals to FR and break even/make a profit. Not although capturing is cheaper (2750), I can't even sell my unbred mares for 1k, and my foals for 600. However I'm also seeing art go for record high prices in auctions. I remeber a few years ago, Coldwater and Trigg did a collab (this piece) back in 2019 and it went for 2-3 mil. Nowadays I can sell a piece rather easily for 2.5 mil, and their piece could probably reach 7-10+ mil. I don't know if the problems we're having are because of having too much money or too little money, but inflation of top studs/broods/arts and the devaluation of many things like regular horses/broods/studs is interesting.

I'd give it a try again. I'm curious. I used to see pieces go for 1-2mil consistently, if they were good- but now I'm seeing a lot of artists, unless they make something extremely fantastic and detailed, get around 200-600k depending on who it is
