Because she just made my life WAY easier! With over 100 horses I was going to cut back to only showing a barn of 25 due to time constraints, or suck it up and not have my horses show to their full potential with the barn manager because they have to show in the same event on the same day every week.
Then it occured to me: Let her check and see if they will be competitive in each event, and then I can come through quickly on thursday and Friday and enter any horses that were not competitive all 3 days in events where they WERE competitive.
For example: If Horse A is being trained in all diciplines, I have the manager try to enter him in Dressage on Monday, XC on Tuesady, and Jumping on Wednesday. If he isn't competitive in one of those events she won't enter him that day. So lets say he did well and placed in the money in dressage, but didn't get entered in XC and didn't place well in Jumping. He's only been shown 2x this week and if I switch to the showing tab in his barn, he'll show up with Dressage being in the green and I can easily enter him, and any other horses in a similar situation!
This will also spread my showing income out a little more, which is nice :)

She'll actually enter horses who aren't competitive. So, you'll need to check the horses she does enter to make sure they'll actually earn you money. Personally, it sounds like a lot more work than just entering the horses yourself. Edited at January 30, 2020 08:35 AM by Eurynome

It takes a long time for me to go though and look at each horse's stats and figure out for myself if they may be competitive, and where. She enters them at about the same place in training that I do, so if all I have to do is fly through and enter all the green horses on thursday and friday, it actually saves me a lot of time between not having to open each horse's page individually and also having a smaller list of horses to look at due to those that did get entered 3 times.

Forgotten, i do it the same way you do and find it easy and totally worth it. :D I haven't been going back and entering again thursday/friday. So im being lazy. But when i do, i almost always end up decent on the points/winnings boards.

I have my horses in a spreed-sheet and keep track of what they showed in the week before and if they leveled. I also just started keeping track of when I start showing them again. It's taking me a lot less time now that I'm keeping track ahead of time. I have a little under 250 show horses. I also have no life and can't work outside the home much so have more time then most.
