So this is kinda just a random post about nothing, but ever since I hit 1mil, I have REFUSED to get below that, and I've been doing really good, until now 😅. I just bought this absolutely stunning art piece for 1.2 mil (and I don't and never will regret it), but that leaves me with 300k left, and then I just bought a straw for 150k, so now that's been halved. Luckily I only have two mares (4 foals due to embryo transfers), and I've bought my Sven and medalions already, but here comes the problem of RO straws. I bought two Tekton straws, for my one mare, however I would love to send her to fable so I'm on a waitlist, and that'll cost 250k or whatever (I forget his exact price) if I get one. And I also need to get a Khitla straw for my other mare, so I'm out another 250k. And then if course I need 160k for creating the embryo x4 and transfering it x4, so that's about 500k that I do not have 🤣. Luckily I have an art auction ending on the 29th that's going for 300k currently, and I can FR my horses for 100k. I probably make about 30-40k a day showing, and I have 3 days next week, so that'll be 90-120k more that I've gained. If all goes well, I SHOULD break even. I'd like a buffer, so I'll hopefully find some time to finish up my horse avi art order, and potentially throw out one or more YHH auction pieces, gaining 350k for the horse avi and HOPEFULLY 400k+ per auction. . It's always so taboo to talk about money, how much you have, how much you spend, both in real life and HEE. I personally find it absolutely fascinating seeing a breakdown of costs/earnings, so if you feel comfortable, I would love to see a breakdown of how much you spend/earn and where the money goes and comes from! It's also so crazy to reminisce about when I first hit 100k, and how I tried so hard to save up so I could send my mare to a stud that cost 100k every month. I remember how much it took to buy my first 100 stall barn, and then to pay for a brood (DAMN they're pricey 😅). Just a few months ago I finally worked up the courage to buy my first Sven! And last week I bought 200k+ worth of geldings and two hundred stall barns like it was nothing. Yesterday I bought 2 medallions and a glass and didn't blink an eye. The YEARS of hard work it took to build up my funds enough to be able to do all these things were hard, but it's just so rewarding to see that my hard work and dedication to this game has paid off. End of my rant/word barf about how interesting money is! Edited at September 23, 2023 11:53 PM by Sagebrush

I am the same way 😂 I was at 900 something k and I was working so hard to save up for 1 Mill, The only ebs I spent was honestly in rider fees, I even sat out an RO or two and didn't breed any exiciting matches. I posted in the poll forum asking if I should wait until I make the extra 100k or if I should treat myself and buy a WWE mare. Two very very generous stables sent me enough ebs to get me to 1 mill. After that day I have never went back down under 1 mill, so if I have 1.1 mill in my budget I actually only have 100k.
I now can sustain myself pretty well show showing horses so I have treated myself to 4 big matches this RO. I am actually so excited that I am able to do this as I have logged in everyday for the last 400 days trying to save up and become a "big account" I remember the first time I got like 15k on an old account years ago and I thought I made it in the game. Then I would watch chat and see people bragging about 100k+ horses and matches. I never understood how they got there and I figured I would never reach that. I was happy thinking my 15k made me rich. I actually have a forum somewhere here, it was just a fun game for people to laugh at themselves as a new account and newer accounts could read it and realize even the big accounts did not always understand the game. I kicked it off with saying how I thought I was going to be rich because I found jasmine leaves. Unfortunately the forum never caught on

If you're considering skipping a RO due to finances, and you have good mares - why not make money, by offering someone to breed them? Ofcourse you can set some requirements for it etc. so it doesn't ruin the horses line. I've sometimes had periods of time where I couldn't be active on HE, or maybe just didn't feel like it - so I'd put my mares up as well, to generate income. I wish we could hire more barn managers, lol - and I miss getting money for FR foals from last RO :') I try not to go to broke, but I think I take it all less serious than others - I totally get why people take it serious! I just know myself enough to know that my interest in it will come and go, so sometimes I'd rather go do the fun good breedings, than wait!

I only have two mares worth breeding, and those are the two that I spent all my money on items and straws! I definitely think I'll put them up next year though, just because I don't want to deal with them 😂. And I also totally wish the barn manager could manage more horses, even after all the guides and asking for help, I still feel like I have no idea how to show. I just check to see if they're in the green every week and if they aren't I don't show them, but I feel like my managed horses are in the green a lot more than my other ones.
