Andre was relaxed for the most part and so was double, they could see the water ahead and they couldn't wait to get there having heard how beautiful it was from others, it was all fine until a faint crack was heard in the distance "what was that?" Double asked pinning his ears and tightening up his stride (messy short post to get this started again)

Brea went forward with confidence since Andre was relaxed but when she heard the crack her ears went back as she panicked a bit thinking it was some kind if predator so sped up to a gallop going right into the water she tripped up a bit but managed to stay standing but now water ran up her legs and sides as she slowed down to a stop still in the water as she caught her breath . Fay tried staying calm so Double would hopefully do the same but a look of shock spread across her face as she watched Brea spook Andre having to go along on the bumpy ride with the mare, "Are you okay?" She called to him when the mare finally stopped before she looked at Double again making sure he wasn't too freaked out.

Andre was caught off guard by the sudden bucking and slipped off her back into the water "I'm fine, just soggy" he sighed getting up and wiping his face dry, taking hold of the neck rope to lead the mare out of the river "I'll have to check Brea though, she stumbled and I want to make sure she isn't hurt" . Double bunny hopped a bit but didn't bolt or buck, he was uncomfortable though "is everything alright!?" he asked stepping closer to the mare and her soaked rider

Brea looked over at Double and calmed down more "Yeah just got a bit scared" She chuckled nervously and followed Andre out of the water, The mare did trip up when she spooked but she didn't get any severe injuries just a tiny bit stiff. She sniffed Andre checking he was okay . Fay managed to stay seated on Double and gave him a pat letting him know he handled it well, Fay was glad he landed in the water instead of hitting the hard trail she stayed atop of Double as they walked through the water before stopping beside Brea hoping she was okay. "Quite the day" She chuckled

Andre was relieved when the mare was okay, he smiled up at her and ruffled her mane "I'm okay" he assured as he got ready to mount again "yeah, very eventful" he laughed addressing Fay "we may have to head back though so I can change" . Double snorted and turned his ears to Fay as she spoke, proud that she was happy with him "I wonder what that bang was" he said

Brea snorted happy he was okay and wasn't mad at her for spooking, She stood still letting Andre mount again as she looked over at Double & Fay hearing the girl speak "Are we going back now?" She asked Double still not sure about how trail rides worked. . Fay smiled seeing she was okay, "That's a good idea" She chuckled adjusting herself on Doubles back a bit. "I think there is a shortcut that way that goes back to the Ranch without any lakes or logs" She said pointing at a smaller path connected to the trail

Double nodded "yeah, i think so" he said looking at Brea "if our riders decide to head back, I'm pretty sure they will since one is very much waterlogged" the horse added on shifting his weight from one hoof to another . "alright then we should take that route" he laughed and turned Brea in that direction "lead the way, i'll try not to fall off"

Brea snorted amused by what he said and waited for Double to start before she followed behind focused on what was in front of them instead of the noises around them, The mares tail flicking at her drenched sides as they went down the narrow path. . Fay clucked asking Double to walk before she directed him towards the path leading back to the ranch relaxing and letting her body move with Doubles step as she gave him a pat on the neck

Double wiggled his ears happy that he had made the mare laugh, before following Fay's instructions to head down the other path, keeping his pace steady but energetic so they weren't just trudging along at a slow walk . Andre let Brea follow along, easing into the strides and keeping his weight in his seat so he was secure and wouldn't fall or slip on her currently slick coat "so, you sure this path is less...spooky?" he didn't have the right word to describe what he was thinking
