Sage kneeled down beside her and put his hands on her shoulder. "I know. Same trick as before,Max. Cancel it out. The more you do it the easier it gets." He sighed and shook his head slightly....he hoped what he said was true...she was only half demon. What worked for him may not work as well for her. He just hoped that she would be all right.

"Its so much louder now..." she whimpered "There are too many sounds Sage!" she cried causing a few people to glance at them as they passed though none of them stopped. Max buried herself into Sage's chest trying to hone in on his heartbeat again but the sounds were overwhelming "I can't Sage..." she whimpered "There's too many sounds... I just want to go home!" she whined.

Sage sighed and nodded. "We're almost there," he whispered. He picked her up and carried her inside before closing the door, hoping that would make it a bit quieter for her. "It's alright, Max. You're home, and you can see your daughter as soon as you figure this out "

Max cuddled close to him burying her ears under his jacket in a desperate attempt to block out the sound. When things were quiet she settled some and was able to focus on Sage's heartbeat... though she heard 2 others as well and perked up glancing toward their bedroom before she got up off the couch and headed into their room immediatly to the crib where the softest heartbeat she heard was... Seeing their daughter was indeed alive and healthy settled her some. "She hasn't opened her eyes yet..." Fate said with a small chuckle "I guess she's waiting for her mama..." she said gently.

Sage walked over to the crib, following Max to their daughter. He put a hand on her shoulder, glad that she seemed to have calmed down a bit. "I think so too," he murmured. "Go on, pick her up. You haven't been able to hold her, and you should have been the one to hold her as soon as she was born."

Max gave a small smile before she picked up her little girl cradling her in her arms "She's perfect..." Max murmured the little girl giving a tiny whine and puffing up her cheeks before she squirmed and her eyes fluttered open "Wow..." she murmured seeing one brown eye and one blue one "Heterocromia..." she murmured looking back at Sage with a smile "She got a brown eye from you and a blue one from me." she giggled softly "Thats precious..." she said gently returning her attention to her little girl "You know... we still have to come up with a name for her..." she said gently.

Sage smiled. "She's perfect," he whispered and gave Max a peck on the cheek. He looked back at their daughter and chuckled. "We'll find one that's just as perfect as she is." Then he frowned. "Wait...what are we going to tell your boss? Your work?"

Maxine nodded in agreement slowly becoming lost in her daughter, she only just barely managed to catch what Sage had said "I-I" she stuttered "I don't know..." she admitted "I can't exactly tell them the truth..." she told him glancing toward the door to their room her eyes narrowing. "Already taken care of..." the young demon who had accompanied Roxie before said "Roxie had me tweak their memories... You went into labor the day before yesterday had the baby yesterday and just came home today..." she said simply "No more favors from here on out though." she shrugged.

Sage nodded. "We don't expect any more. But we appreciate it what you did." Sage glanced over at Fate, who was standing quietly in the corner and mouthed thank you to her before turning his attention back to Max and their daughter.

The girl nodded and headed off. Fate gave a nod mouthing back a you're welcome before she disappeared leaving them to enjoy their daughter. Max smiled and sat on the bed with their daughter so Sage could sit with them "What should we call you my precious...?" she asked before feeding their daughter her human desire to nurse her still there as she looked at her with warmth in her eyes and nothing but love. "Do you have any name ideas Sage?" she asked curiously.
