Mari hummed softly to the boy... she knew he probably didn't want to do much, and she felt bad about dragging him along, but to be honest, she didn't want to leave him alone... to come back to something she might not want to see. That thought terrified her... it really did. She nodded when he said to get it over with... she thought he'd like to see the doctor... they got on, and wouldn't he like to talk to the man? She wasn't sure... she wasn't being much help, though, and she knew that... she wanted him to just be happy. She kept a hold of one of his hands as they walked and lead him through to the doctors ward, knocking on the door gently before wandering in.

Sage sort of walked along slowly, pressing himself against the girl, almost as if trying to ground himself as they walked along. He didn't mind seeing the doctor, though the man would probably make a bigger deal of it all than it was...and he just didn't have the energy to answer many questions. The doctor looked up when Mari wandered in, and frowned when he noticed the spot of blood on her clothes. He opened his mouth to ask what had happened, though it found it rather obvious as to what had happened when she dragged the boy in with her. He sighed and got up to reach over and inspect the small cuts along the boys cheek and neck...they weren't deep, and he could smell the alcohol on them, so they were clean. He released Sage and glanced over at the girl, who looked rather weary as well. "I'm going to assume neither of you got much rest," he hummed, handing Mari the slip to give to the queen, telling her she'd have the day off. "Why don't you two sit down and tell me what happened," he murmured, gesturing to the couch. Sage himself didn't want to talk, so once they were settled, he just looked over at Mari before curling himself up against her.

Mari nodded gently to the man when he said to sit down... and, no, neither of them had gotten much rest at all. She sat down with Sage after a moment or two, wrapping an arm around him when he curled against her. "Well... I found him early this morning, curled up in the bathroom. He'd said he'd had a nightmare... about his father, I think," she started, gently rubbing his side with her thumb. "Then he said the walls were bleeding... we got to the bedroom and he seemed a bit better, but he seems pretty shaken up," she told the old man with a weary sigh.

The doctor waited patiently while the two youngsters go themselves comfortable, and then listened to the girl as she explained what had happened. He pursed his lips slightly and sat back in his chair, rubbing his hand on his scraggly beard as he thought, examining the boy. And the girl too, a bit. "I see," he hummed. No doubt the things the boy had seen...or imagined...would have shaken anyone up. He'd seen enough of the boys drawings to know some of the things he often dreamed about, and he had to say even he wasn't fond of those memories. He'd gotten rid of the drawing as soon as possible, and he had a rather strong stomach himself. After a moment he sighed and rummaged around in the drawers for a moment before tossing the girl a pill bottle. "Those will knock him out at night," he hummed. "Deep enough he won't be able to dream. But only one a night, and once he takes it, he'll be out cold for quite a while," he informed the girl. "So just be careful with them," he cautioned. "Be sure everything's settled before taking them." He was instructing the girl because Sage had a tendency to not take his meds, or just take them dry. "And make sure he eats with it...taking it dry can cause stomach bleeding," he huffed. "Shove it down his throat if you have to, I don't care." Sage wasn't really listening, and the doctor knew that, so the girl would be in charge of the medication. That would definitely work best.

Mari glanced to Sage and nodded quietly along with the doctor. She'd give the boy whatever the doctor gave him... and keep them away from Sage, too, because he wasn't very good at actually following the instructions the doctor gave him for his meds. She took them from the man and gripped them in her hands. "Thank you," she murmured quietly, knowing the boy wasn't listening. "Hear that? You need to eat before you take them," she told Sage, nudging the boy gently. Though, she didn't really get much of a reply, so looked to the doctor sheepishly. "I don't know how to help him when he's like this," she whispered, placing a hand on her forehead. There was nothing she could do to get rid of his dreams and nightmates, and she knew that... but she wanted to at least make him feel better, so that he wouldn't try and hurt himself any more.

The doctor nodded in understanding and shrugged lightly. "Just be there," he hummed. "There's not much anyone can do, besides help him out when he needs it and make sure he takes care of himself," he hummed. "Now, why don't you go and get some breakfast," he suggested, figuring they'd probably come here first, before doing anything else. Sage had sort of just zoned out, though when the girl made a move to get up, he sort of blinked rapidly and then scrambled up after her, not willing to be left behind even a little bit. He followed the girl down to the kitchen, staying pretty close to her. He realized he'd left Amber in their room, and felt a bit guilty for leaving her there alone, but he wouldn't have been able to watch her if she got into trouble, so maybe that was a good thing. He'd cuddle up with both her and the girl once they got back to their room.

Mari hummed softly to the boy, thanking the doctor once more before leading him out of the room. She felt him scramble after her, and she grabbed his hand again with a soft sigh. She half contemplated just going back to their room... it would be easier, wouldn't it? To just sit there? But no... they needed to do something to get his mind off whatever was going on. Sage just seemed to be in a shell, and she needed to get him out of it. She got to the kitchen and started putting something together, humming quietly as she did so. She looked over her shoulder after a moment, thinking of a way to start a normal conversation with a boy. "What do you think the baby is?" She asked lightly, resting a hand on her stomach. Really, she was just trying to get his mind off whatever was going on... and the baby was exciting, and it was a good thing, so she hoped a conversation about it might help. "I'm hoping for a boy, but a little girl would be sweet too," she hummed happily.

Sage perched lightly on a chair while the girl cooked, as if he was ready to leap up and away from danger at a moments notice. His whole body was tense, and quite honestly starting to ache a bit, but he barely noticed any of it. His gaze followed the girl around as she worked, not willing to let her out of his sight for even a moment. He hummed quietly after a moment, after the girls question. He cocked his head slightly and shrugged after a moment. "I don't particularly care," he admitted. "Either way it'll be great," he murmured. Maybe the baby would be a girl and take after Mari...or would it look like both of them? Or like him? Is that what Mari wanted ...a son that was like him? He didn't know, and he didn't care ....he'd love it unconditionally either way. His eyes had cleared a little bit, and while everything was still hurting and he was exhausted, his head felt a bit clearer. Like the world wasn't spinning so much any more.

Mari smiled back to the boy after a moment, giving a happy-sounding hum. "I can't wait... whatever happens, I can't wait," she babbled happily as she thought about this baby... a boy or a girl, she'd love it will everything she had, and she knew as much... it was her Sage's child, and that was more than enough for her. She turned to the small table after a moment, a plate full of food... it was safe to say she was hungry. This baby seemed to be growing fairly quickly now, and it was taking a lot out of her, so she could afford to eat a bit better than she normally would. Sage could steal a little bit too, but he'd already said he wasn't hungry. "We need to start thinking about names, too," she chirped lightly. They had months left... but she really seemed like an excited child when it came to the matter.

Sage gave the girl a small smile and nodded. It was barely visible, but it was a smile all the same. He supposed that was a good sign. It wasn't a full smile...but he was excited about the baby. "Me either," he hummed, noting the amount of food the girl was piling onto her plate. He supposed now was the time for the baby to be growing a lot...which meant she'd get more of a baby belly too. And he couldn't help but like that...he'd see the baby anytime he looked at Mari. He cocked his head slightly when she mentioned names. "We don't even know whether it's a boy or girl," he hummed, though it was more amused than anything. He was excited too, though...and it couldn't hurt to think of names for both genders ahead of time he supposed. Especially if it was something to do. Something to talk about, keep him in the moment and out of his head. "Do you have any ideas," he asked Mari. Because, he quite honestly had no ideas. Well, he had half a mind to name a daughter after Lizzie, but he wasn't sure about that. At least, he hadn't thought about it at all.
