Sage felt Mari curl back up after a while, and even in his sleep he nestled into her, settling down with a light sigh....really more just a quiet huff of air. But it was nice to be able to curl up like they used to. And they had the baby next to them, and it was just so nice. So peaceful. He'd missed this type of thing, he really had. He woke up after a while, and curled up into Mari a bit tighter, though he was starving. He supposed it had all caught up with him. He burrowed into Mari, trying to ignore it for a bit, but it sort of just got worse and worse before he groaned and untangled himself from the girl, sitting up with a sigh. He really didn't want to leave her here alone....but he was starving. Maybe he should just bring a bunch of food to their room so he didn't have to leave all the time to make food.

Mari slept for pretty much the rest of the night. She was comfortable, though... happy. Yes, the lack of sleep would be... difficult, but the child would soon start to sleep through the night... hopefully. She'd never done this before... she would have been about ten when her brother was born, but she was already working nights by then so wasn't exactly around much... she'd read just about every baby book in the castle, though... albeit a book was nothing like an actual child. When she felt Sage start to sit up, untangling himself from her arms, she let of a soft sigh of complaint, and slowly started to wake up. When she looked at him, she could see just how shattered he was... and she did feel awful. He'd probably have to go and get some food. She didn't know when he'd eaten last. "Where are you going," she murmured tiredly, her voice completely dampened with sleep.

Sage hummed lightly at the girl's murmur and pecked her on the lips gently. "Getting food," he whispered back. "You need anything before I go to the kitchen? I'll bring some back so I don't have to leave as often," he promised lightly. He felt awful about leaving her here alone, he really did, but he was absolutely starving, and he didn't think he could wait much longer to head down to the kitchen. "Go back to sleep if you want, I'll be back soon." The baby was still on their bed, and sound asleep, so she could get to both him and the bottle on the headboard easily. They'd be fine, right? He certainly hoped so, but half of him just wanted to stay there and ignore the sharpening pain in his stomach.

Mari smiled gently when he pecked her on the lips... it was a nice little gesture, and it certainly made her happy. She looked thoughtful before nodding. "Anything savoury," she murmured quietly, she was more hungry than she thought she'd be... well, she hadn't really eaten since the birth, but she supposed she'd just been so occupied by being sick and the birth of her child that it'd never crossed her mind. But she was hungry... and she supposed to heal she needed food. Mari sighed before waving him off. "I'll be alright... you go and eat," she hummed gently. She wanted him go before sighing softly looking over to the baby with a cocked her as she started trying so close his fingers around she blankets, and her smiled grew slightly as she picked him up and leaned him on her lap, which was up as she rested, gently talking to him in a very babyish voice... though she soon started to drift back off to sleep again before she saw Sage again.

Sage nodded and hurried out the door....he was hungry, so by the time he was at the kitchen he was practically running. Plus, the faster he went the faster he could get back to his little family. And he didn't want to leave her alone, though he knew they'd both be just fine. He couldn't help but worry, though. He made a couple different meals...and then some desserts and raised the pantry for snacks before devouring a plate and heading back to the room. He was still a bit hungry....but he could wait to eat until he was back in the room and they could all eat together. Mari was asleep when he got back, so he settled down next to her, drawing the two of them cuddled up together. He sort of munched on crackers while he drew...he'd grown to quite like them. The doctor had certainly given him plenty of them in the past.

Mari slept for the next few hours... just until her body wouldn't let her rest anymore. She'd hugged onto Sage a little bit as she slept, the baby in between both her and her fiancé. She had her head in his side, and nuzzled into him a little bit more as she opened her eyes. She looked up a him after a few moments, and smiled softly. She suddenly felt so happy about having him by her side... so lucky to for him to have decided to stay throughout all of this. Because it had been hard on him... and he could have left at any point and she wouldn't have been able to do anything about it. She opened her eyes a bit more and her smile grew a little bit more. "You're so handsome," she hummed randomly with a grin as she curled into him a bit more.

Sage felt a soft smile drift onto his face when he felt Mari nuzzle up and then gave her a grin and peck on the cheek at her comment, though he was rather amused. "Are you sure you're alright," he teased the girl lightly, wrapping an arm around her, and Silas as a result. He was suddenly very glad to have Mari here. He'd never thought he'd have someone who loves him like this, and he'd always thought love and a finacée and a child of his own were always way out of reach. But, they weren't. Just like having a loving father wasn't out of reach. It all seemed so bizarre, and he didn't really understand it all, but he definitely wasn't complaining.

Mari chuckled when he wrapped an arm around her and the child, a light grin across her face. "I mean it! You're really handsome," she babbled out happily. She really did think so... he'd never admit it, but he was. Sure, he had scars and wasn't perfect, but he was hers... all of him, and she was so incredibly thankful for that. For him... she couldn't comprehend it all, or the fact that he actually loved her in return. She wasn't perfect either... and yet he still loves her every day, for some reason. When she was sick, or hurting, or now when she was bed ridden with awful pain... he was still here. Still putting up with her shenanigans every day, and she couldn't love him more for it.

The girl cocked her head a little bit before shaking her head, a slight chuckle escaping her. She reached up to swipe the hair out of his face and looked thoughtful for a moment. "Never mind I might actually be delirious," she agreed, her voice teasing. Of course, she still thought he was gorgeous... inside and out, but she couldn't get him to admit that. She looked to the side to look at the food, and gave a bit of a smile. "I'm sure I'll manage to get out of bed in the next day or so. You don't have to stay with us, though... if you want to go and see the horses, or Anya or the doctor or anyone.. you know you don't have to stay with me," she told him gently, reaching up to press a light kiss to his cheek.
