Sage chuckled lightly and nodded, getting up and holding his hands out to help the girl up. "That would be preferred," he hummed lightly. "Though even sweaty you don't smell very bad," he hummed. He figured she'd want a nice bath though. "Why don't I turn on a bath so you can sit down once we get in there," he suggested. "It would be nice I think," he mused lightly. The girl wasn't all that heavy, even though he was light and hadn't eaten since she'd gone into labor. But at least they weren't far from their room.

Mari rolled her eyes at the man before shrugging. She didn't believe that for one second, but she wouldn't argue if that was what he thought. She smiled at his suggestion and nodded gently. That would be nice... she wanted nothing more than to just sit in a nice warm bath as of then, and let her muscles relax a little bit... they could set the baby down in his cot, and he should be asleep for another hour or so. She took his hands after a moment or so, forcing herself to believe she could do it, though when she got to her feet, finally, her whole body was shaking. She wrapped her arms around him, holding on for dear life, wincing as she waited for the pain in her abdomen to finally stop. Once it had, she took in a deep breath and sighed... walking would certainly be a challenge, considering she was struggling to stay on her feet the way it was.

Sage waited patiently for the girl to steady herself, admittedly a bit worried. Was she supposed to be up and walking yet? Was this ok? Well, he supposed she'd feel better after a bath, and in her own bed. "Good," he murmured, and when the girl responded positively, they sort of started shuffling out of the ward. It was slow, painfully, slow, but he supposed it was also painful for Mari, so he was fine with it. They got back to their room after maybe five minutes of rather hard work, so he set Mari down on the floor outside the bath and turned the water on to warm up a bit before setting the baby down in his crib gently. He watched the lad curl up inside it, suddenly quite proud of everything he'd managed so far. A crib, a baby, a finacée, everything looked great. He wandered back into the bathroom and closed the door, helping Mari into the now warm bath before undressing and sliding in himself. "Scoot over a little bit," he giggled, settling himself down next to Mari. He just didn't want to leave her in here alone. And, he hadn't washed either so he may as well join her. Besides, he wanted to help her, so washing her hair for her seemed like a nice thing to do. "Turn around," he hummed, reaching for the shampoo and scrubbing it into her hair firmly but gently. It had to feel nice...she was getting clean and practically getting a massage. He was almost jealous.

Mari let the boy help her, but to be honest she couldn't have done anything without him. The pain was awful... not as bad as the actual birth, but it was bad. Awful. Sage was being good for helping her, though... she know being so slow would be a little bit stressful for him. She let herself slip into the bathtub, the water running over her. She glanced up at Sage when he started undressing, a small smile across her face when she realised he'd be joining her. It'd be nice just to sit with him for a while. She moved over for him, leaning against his chest. When he went to wash her hair for her, it was nice of him... very nice. She felt her muscles relax when he started, a soft sigh escaping her.

Sage was glad to be able to help her...he hadn't much been able to before, and he still felt a bit guilty about it. He knew there was no way he could have helped, at all, but even so he wished there was something he could have done besides hold her hand and fret about her. He had bruises on his arm from where the girl had gripped him tightly while in labor, and she wasn't one to be unable to handle pain...he knew it hurt like hell, and he really did wish he'd been able to take on at least a little bit of her burden. But, at least he could do this. Wash her so she got clean, like she wanted, but let her relax at the same time. He could tell she was enjoying herself, which was good to see...it meant he was doing something right. He spent a bit of time just fussing over the girl, and once she was all clean, he set all the soap and whatnot down, deciding they could cuddle and relax for a while, until the water started cooling down.

Mari let herself lean against him as he saw to her, finding this incredibly relaxing... she felt cared for, which was certainly nice. She was almost asleep when she felt him stop, a slight groan escaping her as she felt herself fall back into him, her back against his chest lightly. She reached back a little bit to place a hand on his cheek and tilted her head to press a light kiss to his chin, then rested her head on his shoulder gently. She was still hurting, but this was nice... it really was. She couldn't lean forwards without pain shooting though ber, but she found that the pain wasn't so bad when she was in the warm water. She looked back to her fiancé with a small smile, still unable to process how lucky she was to have him. "Thank you... for everything. I know this has all been hard on you too," she murmured quietly.

Sage was more than content to wash the girl for a while. He chuckled softly at her tiny groan, but wrapped his arms around her when she cuddled in again. He looked down at her, a faint grin on his face, in response to her thanks. "You're welcome," he hummed. "But, I have a lot to thanks you for too, you know. None of this would be possible without you," he pointed out. He really was so lucky to have her. And the baby. (Short lol)

Mari sighed softly to the boy, shaking her head. "I wouldn't have been able to do any of this without you, either... and I'm sorry I scared you," she murmured quietly, referring to the not so easy birth. She didn't want to scare him... she didn't want him to worry about her at all. But he always would, and she knew that. "I love you so much... I never wanted you to worry about me... about us," she murmured, referring to the small child. She couldn't help but feel like she'd neglected him a bit... she hoped he didn't feel like that. "I never wanted you to feel neglected, either," she murmured quietly. "I'm sorry if you felt like I haven't been paying attention to you, too... it's all just been a lot," she murmured quietly.

Sage hummed and shook his head slightly. "There was nothing you could do about that," he pointed out. "You did your best...and that's really all I could ask for," he hummed. "I know it wasn't easy. Any of it." It wasn't likely to get much easier either....not for a while. He reached his head over to press a light kiss to her temple, squeezing her lightly. "No, I always knew you loved me," he hummed. "There was never any question about that." He rested his chin on her shoulder lightly, more than content to sit there for a while. Eventually, though, the water started cooling down, so he patted the girls arms lightly. "Let me up, then I'll help you out," he hummed, crawling out of the shower and getting dried and dressed quick before helping Mari up and out and then after that get comfortable in bed before crawling up to cuddle in next to her.

The girl sighed softly before shaking her head. She felt like she should be paying a little bit more attention to him over the last nine months... let him know he still meant to the world to him. He did... she had a baby, who she loved more than anything, but Sage was her world... the child wouldn't even be here if it weren't for him. She was just glad he didn't feel like she'd been ignoring him. She had just been so worried about this child. She didn't want anything to go wrong... and it hadn't. The child was perfect. She moved to let him out, and forced herself to stand up... her head spun for a few moments, but soon enough she was leaning on Sage, just letting him hold her for a few moments before getting out and dressed... she went to the bed, slowly letting herself down, trying to avoid any kind of pain... though it didn't work. She squeaked as she hit the pillow, and instantly curled up, taking a deep breath until it faded once more. She hated this... it felt absolutely horrible. When he came to cuddle in, she wrapped her arms around him and buried her face into his chest with a small sigh.
