Mari hummed softly before shaking her head. "You can't stay here forever because I need to sort the kids out when Anthony drops them off this evening," she mused to him happily. She watched him slowly start to turn around before gently patting his back and pecking the back of his head. "Aww baby was that hard work?" She asked with a small chuckle, kind of pulling the blanket up a bit further so he'd stay warm. It was pretty chilly outside the blanket anyway... she was cold, but she'd gotten used to it by now. She gently ran her hand up and down his back before kind of starting to massage his upper back, her thumbs moving in small circles whenever she found a knot... and really, there were loads. Her eyes fell on his scars eventually, and she let out a soft breath of air. "Are they feeling any better?" She asked quietly.

Sage sort of chuckled in response to her comment and gave the girl a fake pout, though he knew she probably couldn't see too much of his expression. "Yes, it was," he huffed, though there was an obvious twinge of amusement in his voice. He snuggled into the blanket when she moved it up happily, and let out a happy hum when she sort of ran her hand over his back. His breath hitched slightly when she started...really, it hurt more than anything for a moment, but of course felt wonderful once the initial tenseness had passed. He was more than happy to let her work, though he shrugged slightly in response to her question. "They're healing," he sighed. "I just wish they'd hurry up," he grumbled. "I can't do anything," he huffed in annoyance. "But they don't hurt so much anymore," he added in a slightly less annoyed tone.

Mari hummed gently when she felt him tense up, kind of backing off a little before going back in. She murmured an apology under her breath before looking over at him with a shrug. "They look a little bit better," she hummed quietly to him, her hands venturing just a little bit lower. "You're gonna take a while before everything goes back to normal hun," she told him softly. "You're still healing," she added quietly. She didn't want him to worry too much... he didn't have to do anything for another few weeks, at least. She soon finished up, her hands slowly running around his back in a sighing manner. She did miss being the one in his spot... getting to be cozy and loved on the way he was, but she enjoyed doing this for him, so it didn't really matter.

Sage sort of just grunted when she apologized and shook his head. "It's gonna hurt more without you back there," he noted with amusement. He nodded with a sigh when she said they were healing. "I know," he hummed. "I'm just sick and tired of having to sit around all sore," he mused. (Super short but the dogs throwing up lol) Edited at September 15, 2023 01:47 PM by NightClan

(Hope they're alright!!) Mari hummed gently to him before going to peck the back of his head where he was laying across her. "I don't like hurting you," she mused to him quietly. "I know, I know," she mused. "You've been complaining about it non stop," she chuckled, her fingers still lightly trailing around his back. "You'll be better sooner than you know it. Don't worry yourself," she murmured softly. "Then you'll be sore for whole other reasons entirely," she chuckled in amusement before shaking her head. "And once you learn how to coordinate yourself, too," she added to him.

(she's fine she just eats too fast and then throws up lol) He hummed lightly at her peck and nodded with a chuckle. "I know," he hummed lightly. "But it was just the initial whatever that hurt....now it just feels good," he mused with a slight sense of amusement in his voice. He grinned sheepishly at her next comment before huffing out a breath. "It's annoying," he muttered. "I wanna do stuff. And I feel bad about not being able to help you and the kids very much," he sighed. He glanced back at her when she mentioned being sore for other reasons and then grinned. "Was that an invitation," he hummed lightly before grunting in agreement with her last comment. "Amber does most of the work guiding me around and making sure I don't fall over and break myself now," he mused lightly.

(Bloody animals lol) Mari nodded at his comment before shrugging, "well, I wouldn't know, would I!" She mused, giving him a reassuring look before just focusing on where her hand was trailing around. "I don't need you to help me with the kids. I'm fine... the horses are fine, everyone is cared for now," she told him gently. "All I need you to do is look after yourself. Take your meds, eat your food and rest... that's all," she murmured softly to him. She raised a brow at his comment before shaking her head. "It would have been an invitation if you hadn't nearly passed out on me last night. I think it's best if we avoid putting ourselves in that situation just encase you actually did like... black out just as I was starting to enjoy myself," she teased him softly. "And right now you're telling me how sore and crippled you are, and I feel like we need to not let it get any worse babe," she murmured softly to him.

(loll yea) Sage hummed lightly in agreement to her first comment and then groaned at her next one. "I know, but I need something to do. Even if it's just 'make sure Silas doesn't make too much of a mess' just to make me feel like I can actually help out around here," he snorted. He grunted when she hit a knot in his back and then chuckled at her comment. "Give me a day or two and I'll be fine again," he huffed in amusement. "Well now you're fixing things. You do that, I enjoy it, then I get this, and I enjoy it almost as much," he teased lightly. "sounds great to me," he mused, really just joking around, though there was definitely truth to it.

Mari hummed softly to him after a moment or two. "Well, then tonight you can put Liz to bed for me then, yah? I'll deal with Silas," she mused, rolling her eyes softly... the boy had become a little bit of a menace at night, so it did amuse her quite a bit... the idea of Sage running around after their four year old to wrestle him into bed. The four year old would probably win. She kind of took her hands off him when he grunted, but soon got to work on the knot again. "Oh, so if I just sat here with you for a little while, treating you like royalty with a nice massage then you'd be happy forever, hm? Sounds like a win to me," she mused softly to him. "And I wasn't the one to ruin anything, so I don't see what I should be fixing! If anything you should be giving me a massage," she teased him with a small laugh.

Sage hummed happily in response to her first comment, nodding happily. It was easy enough...by the time they went to bed, the baby was usually slready sleepy. He hummed again when she started to work on the knot, admittedly letting out a quiet sigh of relief as she did. "Yup," he chirped in response to her next comment. Then he shrugged at her other one. "Then I'll give you one later, " he msued lightly. "I'm not that crippled. It just might be one handed after a while," he chuckled lightly. "Or you wait until im better and then you get it all," he added rather cheekily.
