Why does one horse have so much tack? She questioned herself, her cold blue eyes narrowing at the boy. She managed to muster up many opinions quickly, but kept them to herself. Or at least tried to. "Outside and to the left. There should be a door, coming off the side of the barn. If there happens to be no door, you are looking in the wrong place." She informed him before adding "Well, that or we've been robbed." She said, picking up the saddle and swinging it onto the horses back with a huff.

"haha very funny." he said as he observed her huffing the heavy saddle on to the poor horses back. English Jumping saddles ae lightweight and easy for the hose to bear, he thought, that on eisnt. "hmph," he huffed as he strode The off to the tackroom, finding Nero's stuff and going to get him for a quick ride befoe the dreaded 11:30 mucking out. he saddled his horse swiftly, and was out of the barn before the girl could even get out of the stable. He hopped on, praising the stallion, and set off at a happy, slow trot to one of the arenas. the area was pleasant and the found themselves enjoing it. the headed to the outdoor arena, popped a few jumps ad enden in a course of 95cm, involving several tight turns. he finished, patted Nero and gave him some carrot. then they walked slowly back to the barn and he groomed his horse, set a light summer rug on him and turned him out. Then he went to look for the girl, it was 11:25.

Ellie had to frown at the sarcasm, but she left him to himself after that. She let herself take her time with tacking up, there's was no point rushing, was there? Once she was done, she lead the sleepy looking horse out and used the fence to hop on. She patted his neck before kicking him on. She chose to just go on a nice hack, and then leave him to rest. She had been working a lot with Astra the last few weeks, so she didn't want to work him too hard. The hack was short and sweet, and the gelding didn't seem too fussed. If it were Frost, I'd be on the ground already. She thought to herself bitterly. Ok, so she wasn't a fan of the mare, but she always had Astra. By the time she had managed to get back, she was late. But she didn't mind, she could sort out the horses swiftly, so it wasn't a problem. She only got off when she reached the barn door, leading the gelding in and chucking her tack on the floor before giving him a brush. That was the reason her tack was always a mess. She didn't really care for it. At all. She tied the gelding back up, then took her saddle and bridle back to the tack room. It wasn't helpful that her saddle rack was on the top rack, as she wasn't tallest person in the world, but, after a long struggle, Ellie managed to reach it before sitting on a bench for a moment to catch her breath.

Sam heard a thud from the tackroom, sounding like a heavy saddle, so he guessed it was Ellie. He strode in and saw the girl sitting down, panting after having to get the big piece of equiptment up there, and he felt a little sorry for her. "well, weve got to go muck out now," he said "we have to do those 7 stalls-" he pointed at the row of stalls used by lesson horses that were absolutely filthy. he walked over and grabbed a wheelbarough, a pitchfork, a shovel and a skip. "you coming?" he said impatiently

"Hm... No. You go do three of them. I'll do the rest in a few minuets." She decided, starting to stand up quietly. Who did anything when they were superposed to? Maybe it was because he just got here and didn't want to make a fuss. It wasn't like there was anyone chasing them up about it. After a few moments she stumbled out of the tackroom, looking around for her equipment. It had been taken. She groaned to herself before going off to find some more, then started on a stable labeled 'Ruinstone' She knew this horse- well, it was a pony, and the devil at that. She rode him when she was young, and she swiftly grew to love the cheeky little thing. He was on box rest, so she had no choice but to muck the little pony out while he was in there, which meant she had to buckle up. She looked straight at the little roan pony, who was eating happily. "Hello there." She said to Ruin, offering a smile of peace, though she knew fine well that he didn't know what she was saying. She still liked the little beast. She slipped inside the stable door, finally starting to get on with mucking out.

Sam got started on a horses stable called FireStorm. my god he is a little devil he thought to himself. or rather a large devil. fire was 18hh and a blood bay with a notorious temper. he watched as Ellie struggled to muck out with a pony in the stall, and figured he could be cleverer than her and just tied Fire up outside with a haynet, finished mucking out in peace, put him back and moved on to the next horse. "hey id brin him out if i were you!" he shouted at the girl, swiftly finishing his round of cleaning and sticking his hot and sweaty head under a hose to cool dow. he looked up and shook the water off like a dog.

"You don't think I've tried?!" She grumbled, moving the pony over with her hip, only to have it fleece her for treats. "I have nothing for you." She murmured quietly, pushing the ponies muzzle away from her. It wasn't like the pony had no hay. In fact, it had more hay than a little pony like himself could manage. And she didn't half trust him not to bolt off as soon as he left the stable. It made her wonder why he was a child's pony. Finally, after 15minuets, she finished and rushed to get out of the stable. she figured the rest of the horses would be a breeze to took her time with the rest of them. She took a glance over at Sam, who was just shaking his head off, "Mutt." She noted before finishing off the other horses without another sound.

Sam put the tools back where they should be, and decided to go take a shower. he knew this place had rooms for the riders, so e went and found his, which was small but cosy. he went to have his shower, came back and dressed in jodphurs and a polo shirt. he went to the yard and started sweeping it, as it was one of his tasks. as he swept, he thought of ellie and how proud she was, she didnt even take help graciously. Sam had met quite a few western riders and apart from some, he despised them all.

Soon enough, Ellie was finished and was left to tackle her own horse: Frost. She walked over to her stable, and just stared at her. "Now, what am I going to do with you...?" She asked the mare. She knew fine well that she had this weird habit of talking to horses. They didn't talk back, they just listened. She started to chat to the mare, as she grabbed a brush and started on her silvery coat. "See, if you were well behaved, like Astra, you would be able to go out on hacks as well, not just in the arena." She noted, her voice soft. The mare turned her head and started fleecing her for treats, making Ellie chuckle, "Yes, you would." She repeated before going quiet, scrubbing the stains out of her mares coat.

Sam walked into the yard again, hair rumpled and wet from his shower. he ducked into the tackroom, grabbing his grooming equipment. he walked out and heard a murmering. Ellie was talking to her horse quietly, grooming her softly. He walked out slowly, not wanting to disturb their moment, and took Nero to the crossties, quietly for once. he groomed him, softly humming, and scratching him while he softly groomed him. he lead him out softly, and tied him up loosely with a haynet to enjoy the sunshine. then he sat on a nearby stone and sat reading, te golden sun dying his hair and making it go iridescent.
