(Alright!)

I guess I have everything. Corva thought as she looked down at the bag of supplies she had bought. Turning her head, she watched the other people with mistrust, trying to remember where the way out of the town was. It had been one or two years since she had started out on her own to find the famous 'Safe Haven' everyone was talking about. Her uncle hadn't been too happy at her leaving, but he had made sure she was prepared for things she would probably come across. His training had certainly paid off, for Corva was at ease in the wilds, and could fend off all kinds of situations. However, he hadn't taught her how to deal with other people, apart from fighting them, so she normally tried to avoid them. Unfortunately for her, she occasionally needed certain things that she could only find in towns, so once in a while she would be forced to make her way to the nearest town to get what she needed; and that was what she was doing on this particular day. Well, it's not like I'll be around anyone for much longer. Corva attempted to reassure herself. A sudden bark caused her to look behind. Aldrin, her furry guard dog/companion, was lifting his head to look at her, his left ear flopping to the side as he whined. "I know you don't like this, but we'll be leaving soon, so be patient." The young traveler said with a smile, laughing silently at the dog's antics.

Kye really truly did not want to go into the store but unfortunately you need food to survive so he had to psych himself up. Internally of course. He wasnt insane. Maybe.

Plus he didnt want to see the way people looked at him when they saw his face with his scar. He was mostly used to it but sometimes especially if it was kids, it still stung a little, and he didnt have his younger brother to make jokes about it anymore. He had started the journey to the so called 'Safe Heaven' that was supposed to keep everyone safe, but he had concluded that for people who had traveled across the freaking earth to get to somewhere safe, they were incredibly judgy. But he couldnt complain, he was kinda judgy too(when it was expected, no body shaming here!). But still.

He sighed taking another deep breath and started toward to entrance determined to keep his eyes forward and glare at anyone who gives him a dirty look.

The wind picked up a little as Corva placed everything she had bought or traded into a large backpack she brought with her. It was very heavy, and she grunted in effort as she slung it over her shoulders. A breath of cool air flowed through her dark brown hair, reminding her that she should leave soon, before the cold night arrived. Her clear, vibrant eyes swept over the crowds, and fixed on another person not too far from the entrance. To her, he seemed on edge, which made her nervous. She could never predict how a person would act, and what she didn't know, or wasn't good at, she typically stayed away from. To her, this method is what helped keep her alive in the wild, but it also made her mistrustful of almost everyone, and made it extremely difficult for her to work with other people. Keeping a close eye on the newcomer, Corva signaled for Aldrin, and he came running to her, fully focused and ready for any command. "Aldrin, come. We should probably start heading out." Corva spoke in a low tone, being careful not to draw attention. In her experience, in shady towns such as these, it was best to leave without anyone knowing that the person was gone, to avoid such things as ambushes, robberies, etc.

Kye watched the entrance a few more seconds before throwing away his nerves and straightening to his full height eyes steeling over as if frozen. He watched the girl make eye contact with him and watched the dog come to her and he clenched his jaw and raised his head in a 'Yes?' look.

He stepped forward a few steps glaring as he walking into the entrance he decided that keeping himself looking intimidating and closed off was better than making friends and doing the hanky panky. Better than be alone than be hurt amiright?

He sighed as his brother voice came to his mind just as he stepped into the store

Fingering her jacket nervously, Corva looked around, making sure no one was in the area of the gate. As she scanned the area, she noticed the stranger enter a nearby store. She was slightly relieved, as she had one less danger to worry about. Her uncle had always said she was reactive, and could assess a situation faster than most of the people he taught. Of course, she had always been that way, and sometimes it had helped her, but other times it hindered her from allying herself with people.

Of course, it's not like there are very many people here who can be trusted. I've had more than my fair share of thieves and traitors. She thought to herself, angrily remembering her time in the wilderness. Suddenly, as if in answer to her silent thought, she caught sight of someone entering the town by the main gate. No! Not him! Corva looked in horror and fear as she watched the man, a tall, somewhat skinny fellow with auburn hair and brown eyes, step through the empty streets. Aldrin must have felt her unease, for he flattened his ears, tensing up his furry, muscular body in preparation for whatever orders she might give. I can't challenge him now, there's too many people here. If only he wasn't here! Why did he come in the first place? Thoughts were whirling in her head as she tried to figure out what to do. She had met this man before, and things did not go well for either of them, leaving a deep scar on his arm, and causing her to be even more mistrustful than before.

Kye gathered the things he needed and payed for them scowling at the way the cashier melted when he made eye contact. Guess people do have a thing for Mountain Man he sighed walking out the door spotting Corva again looking panicked. He followed her gaze watching the auburn haired male and the panicked look in her eyes. He shifted on his feet and frowned. His brother would've already rushed over and helped her out but these weren't the times. And he brother wasn't here.
He started away but let out a groan when the voice in his head (which sounded suspiciously like his brother) told him otherwise. He scowled and turned around walking up to her "Look Don't attack me I'm trying to help saw the guy walk in just walk with me okay?" He asked looking down at her sincerely. He stood there eyes darting around to watch the man getting closer. "Just come on before he spots you, you seem to know him and if I had to guess you guys are very freindly, so if you don't wanna upset the whole white picket fence aesthetic, which I wouldn't mind, please I'll try and help" this wasn't something he normally did, but his mind(again suspiciously sounded like his brother) made him he swore. And he would never do it again.

Corva clenched her jaw, trying not to panic as she attempted to assess the situation. She knew she should leave, and the sooner the better. However, she also knew this man was dangerous, and she knew that any confrontation should be avoided if possible. She had confronted him before, and it nearly ended in disaster. He had a grudge, not directly against Corva, but against her uncle. Unfortunately, even if the grudge was against her uncle, she herself was put in grave danger because of it. The day they met, near a town much like the one she was currently in, he had somehow known she was the niece of his enemy; he had rushed towards her, shouting out about how he was going to get his revenge. She was caught off guard for a split second, but thanks to her uncle’s training she quickly responded by pulling her trusty weapon from its holster and firing, aiming right at his arm. Thankfully, the arm that was injured was the one he used most, so he couldn’t fire back as she raced away as fast as she could.

That was some time ago. No doubt he'll be more cautious this time. I won’t be able to escape this as easily. She thought nervously as she watched the man, who thankfully hadn’t noticed her yet. Suddenly, she heard footsteps, and she whipped around to find the same guy she had caught sight of earlier. He was asking if he could help, which surprised Corva greatly, as she had rarely ever come across someone willing to help another, not in all her time in the wilds. A growling noise made her look back at Aldrin, who was watching the guy who had approached her. She quickly gave him a cue to stop, and once he did, she turned back to the other. “Thank you for the help. Do you know if there is another way to leave this town? A way that is less used than that one, or more secret?” she asked, nodding her head in the direction of the main gate. “I need to leave this town without being noticed.”

Ky glanced down at the dog ready to run if it attacked but was surprised when she cued him to stop. He looked taken aback for a split moment before the same neutral look replaced it and he turned away from the man.

"Yeah I know a place, but it's at the other end of town" he winced at the twang in his voice and glanced over his shoulder. "You up to that?" He asked and kept his gaze on her making sure to get her direct answer. He knew he xould be a little, er, freaky. But she seemed to be okay. He turned 5o the dog and raised an eyebrow . He was cute. When he wasn't about to chomp your head off of course. But soon enough he assessed her face taking in the frown lines and weary look on her face. He knew she couldn't be very old, but an apocalypse could do that to someone.2He then turned back around and 4an a hand threw his hair shifting from the balls of his feel to the heels, a nervous habit he had picked up from his brother.
