“Perfection? I think it’s an expectation to aim to.”
Granted, that trying to meet a societal standard wasn’t one that would guarantee you success in any right, but a personal perfection was an ultimate form for a being, where they are at the peak of their life. Where they are at their most reliable, responsible, the most trustworthy and loyal. Something you spontaneously gain after working long and hard for it. And sensing the slight pulsing tremors that seemed to be playing up somewhere inside himself, his magical ability clearly had not reached that yet.
His eyes tracked the queen as she exited the room, heading down one of the many corridors before Eloise’s voice brought his attention back onto her. Following her down an opposing corridor, he felt the need to engage in some conversation, so-as to break the silence. Presumably, it did make it rather awkward to only hear the sound of footsteps, and their related echoes. Starting off open-ended, Eleven began, “If you were in an alternate universe, what sort of future did you imagine for yourself?”
As for himself, it was no task to think about. Simply to live a free, wandering life. Spending time doing adventures and achieving new things previously thought unattainable. Discover new things, never getting bored or free of things to do. Sleep under skies and see cities from different perspectives. Much like what he had been doing thus far, but on a wider scale. Her response was of great interest, providing another window to a different view. He wondered, why was that the future she imagined?
As of when she rounded up her response, the group of four halted in front of a set of double doors that were the entrance to his room. Made of some glass like structure, and engraved with intricate details all over, it caught his direct attention, combined with a pleasant compliment. Separating here, he entered and gave an initial scan of the room. Already, Wolfe had come and placed all his possessions away in the places where they were best suited. Nodding in silent approval, he began his own inspection, checking all the nooks and corners to become well-familiar with it. And with the few hours until dinner, he had time aplenty to explore and still make it back in time. Casting off the decorative overcoat, and enchanted weapons, he changed into plainer clothes and took a hop out of the window.
By the expected time of return, Eleven came into the room to an expectant Wolfe, who had taken over the entirety of the bed with all four limbs and body. Being the most incredibly reliable person, the youth had already set out Eleven’s own outfit and was ready to go himself. Upon spotting the silver-haired fool, the young man-servant jumped up off the bed with the immediate justification – “I was bored, and you weren’t coming back for ages yet.”
School's starting up for me soon, so my responses will likely get a larger timeframe in between.
