Alistair Alistair lifted his head and looked around. "Like there'd be anything dangerous still alive enough to kill." He glanced back at Jade, she was curling up, his eyes fixed on her for a minute. I definitely stumbled on the right pile of rocks. What am I thinking. The water must be getting to me. He shook his head and continued his watch, but he wasn't sure that it was worth it to watch, since it was wasted energy on something that probably wouldn't help. Then the thought crossed his mind that there were most likely fish, crocodiles or alligators still out there, the pre-existing water sources that were still around were probably covered in them since it was the only source for quite a ways. But the water here was not deep enough to not see one coming.

Jade ~ Jade turned her head away from the red stag and attempted to sleep. It didn't go so well, the best she got was just rest from closing her eyes. She finally gave up, but decided to pretend that she was sleeping. If he talks to himself, I might be able to learn a little more. Doubtful though, nobody talks to themselves. Staying still, she silently gazed out past the puddles.

Alistair Alistair let his mind speak for itself, it was only partial words but while he thought he didn't realize he was talking out loud half the time, if anything he was just mumbling or silent talking, it was usually audible. If there "Were crocs, I'm sure" that we "could" see them "since the water is" so low.. "same for" alligators.. "what about fish?" They might be "here still", since the "water is" probably still "good for them." His thinking stopped there when he spotted something moving in the distance, he tilted his head, the thing stopped moving, then a gust of sharp cold winds pushed into Alistair. It was just a cactus moving in the breeze, but he kept staring out there just in case there waswas something.

Jade ~ Jade listened to Alistair murmur to himself. Her pretend sleep backfired when she spotted something move in the water. She sprang to her feet, her body tensed. Leaning over the boulder a little to get a look at whatever it was. She had assumed it was a cottonmouth snake, but as she got closer she realized it was just a couple vines tangled together.

Alistair Alistair leapt as quick as he could, which wasn't as quick as he would've hoped, and came over to see what startled her. "You all right?" He asked, after identifying that it was nothing to be afraid of. He looked down at her, his antlers were directly above the tensed female, he didn't realize that they were, he waited for her answer. He took a step away from her, realizing she probably would want air to breathe after a scare like that.

Jade ~ Jade blinked slowly. "Yeah... Thought I saw something.. It's nothing, though." She settled back down again, though her eyes were still wide. "I'm fine, this happens daily. I've always been skittish, over-cautious." She exhaled, calming a little.
