Matt hadnt heard what was said about him, he was too far out the riders lounge. But Lucy had, and as soon as the girls conversation was over, every single word was relayed to Matt. Now, Matt got pissed off easily, he got frustrated even easier, and he wasnt scared to stand up to someone for pretty much any reason, but it was the first day back. Was he really gonna argue? Well, yes he was, if he saw Shona. Being talked about "forced fed nice horses" really was about the end of Matts tether for most things. It seemed to be what everyone thought about showjumpers, and for what reason? Granted, that was the cae for a lot of people but he had trained Emira from young, and it was insanely tricky. He rubbed his forehead, quite hard for that matter, and turned to Lucy. "I'll talk to her when I find her. You should go and get your mare ready, the hacks next." He mumbled, watching Lucy give him a quick hug and speed off to the other barn. Matt, with a heavy and quite irritated sigh, made his way straight into the racing barn and into the tack room, grabbing Emira's standard saddle. - The next half an hour was spent grooming Emira on the cross ties, pretty much just thinking. About Shona, and how much he already despised her. About what he wanted to say, the multilple things, but if he did would probably get kicked out. About the fact he was stuck in the same barn as her for the whole damn season. In fact, Matt was so zoned out thinking that he had no idea Emira was gtting increasingly fed up with her tail being brushed out relentlessley, and was therefore shifting. "Sorry girl" Matt sighed, setting the brush down and making his way over to the wooden horse, to tack the mare up.

Shona, in her pissed off state, pushed the gelding to run a little faster than usual. Thankfully for her, he appreciated it and even enjoyed it. Nearing the mile mark, Shona slowed the heavy gelding down and finished the mile off at a trot. They made their way off the track, slowed down to a walk and leisurely strolled back to the barn. That was when she saw a hoard of people gathered around. The Hack. She thought to herself. Pretentious assholes. Shona pulled her left rein in a little tighter and led the horse towards the left, going around the back of the barn. There was another entry point there. Shona didn't particularly enjoy the presence of the show-jumpers, as they all seemed to have the same ideaology. That they were better than the jockies. If only they understood the amount of work that went into their training. Not only the horses, but the jockies as well. As they got closer to the entrance, Shona dismounted the dark bay and walked him to the cross-ties. She paid no attention to her surroundings as she attended to the horse, and quickly did what needed to be done before taking him back to his stall. Realising her direct involvement with horses was done for the day, Shona pulled up the chore-list on her phone and began making a mental plan of the best ways to go about it. 3 stables to muck, and poop-picking in the paddock that Dallas and a couple other mares shared. She sighed quietly and began her chores, nodding along to non-existant music.

The hack itself wasn't much of a problem between the horses, they were content, slightly fresh and all in all happy to be out and walking across the large amount of acres, field and woods. But, the riders were a different story. On the way back, near to the yard, one of the others overhead Matt and Lucy, to put it lightly, talking shit about Shona and the rest of the jockeys and was therefore giving them a long, stupid lecture about how dumb the split was, and how dumb it was to dislike jockeys for the reasons the others did. Of course, that guy was flamed for his views, but it all in all put most people in a bad mood. Once they had gotten back and Matt had dismounted, he clipped Emira to the cross ties nearest to the barn door, waving a slightly solemn goodbye to the rest of the jumpers, before setting to work on washing his mare down. As he did so, he caught sight of Shona doing what looked like various chores, and his grip on the hose tightened. Even her presence pissed him off, brought back the..what was it, silver spoon comment? He sighed, deciding not to make a scene with a rather spooky mare in front of him, and instead set to dryig and fitting her stable rug, before unclipping her and leading her down the isles. Emira was a little worked up from her hack, and she side stepped as much as possible, her body lightly bashing someone else. Matt sighed, did his best to calm her down and settled her in her stall.
