Sage chuckled softly and shrugged in response to her comment. "Maybe you are," he mused. "Though you're still alive so you're doing something right," he half teased her. It was true though....if you were stupid now, you got killed. There wasn't really any other way of saying it.

He blinked over at her in surprise and then offered her a sort of tight smile. "I try my best," he hummed. "My dad showed me what not to be....but I still have no idea what I'm doing with this one," he noted. He hummed lightly and nodded at her next comment. "She's all I've got," he said, looking down at the baby fondly. He looked back up at the girl when she spoke up again and gave her a grin. "Liz is four months old. I doubt me calling you mommy will mean anything to her," he chuckled, then shrugged. 'i dunno. She was killed when I was three," he noted, in a rather dismissive way. It seemed bad for him to just not care.....but he'd never known the woman. The only memory of her was seeing her head cracked against the floor. It wasn't exactly pleasant. He gave T another crooked grin and shrugged. "I dunno I might be," he chirped, then glanced out at the sun, which had started to set already. "I can take first watch if you want," he offered. "I'm used to not sleeping a whole lot." He was exhausted, yes, but he had to stay up and that was alright if it kept them safe. Now, though, they could take watches and both sleep a decent amount each night.

"Fair point." T chuckled, offering him a sweet smile. She continued gently stroking Lucifer, glancing at the entrance of the cave and watching the red light that filtered through from the sunset.

As he spoke, she turned her gaze back to him, tilting her head. "You're managing pretty well so far." She said softly, smiling at his next moment with the child. She let out a small laugh, shaking her head. "She's not going to stay four months old, Sage." She pointed out, listening to him as he went back to the motherly talk. "I suppose that would put an early end to that, yes." She nodded softly.

She offered him a grin at the chirp, opening her eyes gently. "No, I'll take first watch. No offense, but you look exhausted." She grinned, picking herself up lightly off the floor and dusting herself off. "So, how long do you want watches to be?" She asked lightly, stretching her arms above her head and glancing at her exposed midriff quietly. She lowered her arms and glanced back at him, waiting for her answer.

Sage shrugged in response to her comments, grateful that his hair covered the blush that formed on his face when she complimented him. He supposed he just wasn't used to someone thinking he was doing something right. Or good. He sighed and nodded when she mentioned Liz would grow up and chuckled slightly. "Once she learns to crawl and walk around I'm not sure I'll be managing this well," he half joked, though there was some truth to it.

He heasitated when she said she'd take first watch, and would have agrued simply for courtasy's sake, but at the mention of a decent amount of sleep, his body sort of betrayed him and he nodded along admittedly rather gratefully. He sort of shrugged in response to her question, settling Lizzie down and getting her off his shirt. "Just wake me when you want to sleep," he murmured tiredly after a moment before flopping over onto the blankets and wrapping around Lizzie protectively, since it was habit. Plus it helped keep them warm. Well. mostly her...she wasn't big enough to do much for him, but he knew he'd help her at least. He'd passed out pretty quickly after that, which really didn't come as much of a surprise. Sleeping was the one time he could relax though, especialy with company. The worry lines and such sort of melted away as he slipped into a deeper sleep, so he looked much more his age.

"Hey, now you have me to manage with you. I'm sure she'll be fine." T offered, smiling down at him and giving Lucifer some head scratches as he continued.

"Alright. Sleep well, kid." She teased, walking toward the entrance to sit just behind the ivy, watching the outside world faintly. After an hour or two, it started to get cold, and she drew back into the cave where it was warmer. She could still hear anything coming just as well, and she had un-jammed her gun- so everything was going well. She glanced over at Sage to find someone quite different from the person she usually knew- he looked young. A little handsomer with the relaxed look on his face. She watched his chest rise and fall for a few moments before directing her attention back to the entrance, shaking her thoughts away.

There were only about 2-3 hours of darkness left when she reluctantly kneeled at Sage's side, settling her hand gently on his bicep. "Sage?" She asked softly, tilting her head down at him and stifling a yawn.

Sage had sort of just chuckled softly in response to her comment, though didn't respond since he was already slipping off to sleep. He slept well, better than he'd been able to when it was just him and Liz for sure. He was definitely appreciated it.

He stirred slightly when he felt her hand on his arm, and blinked his eyes open to look up at her and nod, running a hand over his eyes to wake himself up. He shifted slowly to untangle himself from the baby's grip and sit up with a grunt, muscles in his arms shifting slightly as he moved. Then he took a blanket, wrapping it around Liz snugly so she stayed warm and then moving so T could lay down. "Get some rest," he hummed quietly before crawling over to the front of the cave, patting Lucifer gently as he went past. He did like the big old fluffy guy....and so did Liz, given the looks she'd given the animal earlier.

Tempe offered him a faint, tired smile as he opened his eyes, gently withdrawing her hand from his arm. "Morning, sunshine." She joked softly, staying settled beside him until he shifted, watching quietly as he moved Liz and sat up. The faint shifting of his muscles vaguely caught her eye, but she was too tired to stare- or do much else, really. "That's the goal." She nodded quietly, shifting to settle where he had been laying. She curled herself quietly into the blankets, resting her arm gently over Liz, since it felt natural.

Lucifer watched Sage approach, leaning into the pats eagerly and wagging his tail at the attention. After, he walked to sit beside Sage in silence.

Sage chuckled slightly in response to her comment as he crawled away to let her lay down. He settled himself near the front of the cave, where the crisp morning air helped wake him. He really wasn't a morning person, and he'd sleep for a while and let himself wake up slowly if he could....but he didn't really have that option as of now, with the whole zombie issue. And of course, Liz wouldn't sleep that long either. He glanced over at the baby, smiling when he noticed that T had taken his place by the little girl, and then reached over to stroke Lucifer's fur once the animal came over to plop down by him as he kept an eye out.

Tempe was out like a light within a few moments, curled up with the small child somewhat close to her chest.

Lucifer settled by his new friend, faintly licking his hand every so often before he, too, settled down for a nap.

T woke on her own a few hours later, some time after sunset. Her body was already on a schedule, so she didn't feel insanely tired when she gently pulled herself to sit up, glancing at the baby beside her and stifling a yawn.

Sage was more than happy to just sit in the silence and watch the sun rise as he waited for T to wake up. The dog had settled down after a while, but sage kept petting him even once he fell asleep since he was quite soft and warm against his legs. Besides, he liked having company ...even if said company was, in fact, snoring.

He glanced backwards at T when he heard her shift and offered her a sort of grin. "Morning sleepyhead," he teased her lightly before patting Lucifer gently and moving back farther into the cave to join the other people.

T offered Sage a soft smile as he turned to look at her, giving a faint wave. "Fancy meeting you here." She said sarcastically, stretching quietly and glancing down at Liz. She was still asleep, for the moment, but T had a feeling that wouldn't last. She got up quietly, stretching and moving to her bag. "Anything interesting happen lately?" She asked lightly, grabbing a brush from her bag and proceeding to pull it through her hair until it was smooth. After, she tossed it back in and went about getting the day's clothes together for herself. Lucifer had come farther inside the cave to sniff at Liz, then curl up quietly.
