Temperance glanced over to find Zephyr and his whole "Rah, I'm a serial killer in a biker gang" vibe much closer than she wanted it. She said a light goodbye to Luke, offering him a weak smile before she started off after Zephyr. She ran a few graceful strides to catch up, since one of his was almost two of hers. She simply walked with him to the border, acting confident despite how lost she was on what the first step was.

Zephyr's black hair had dried by now and was laying in messy swathes on his head, his bangs dropping down near his eyes and shadowing his already black eyes in an abyss of darkness. Overall, no normal kid could pull off the extreme *Don't look at me or you will die* vibes he had going. He reached the border and paused, contemplating on whether to speak or not. Eh, he was a strategist... he had to speak his plan. "The only entrance to the underworld, other than using the actual Helm of Darkness, is in Los Angeles... no surprise there. That is literally all the way across the continent so if you don't mind being near my dumb creepiness for a second or so, I can probably travel in the shadows all the way there. Once there we will have to get past the guy I have always wanted to stretch out, then enter the underworld through there. If we can get past Charon we will be good to go, then it is just a long journey to Tartarus." Zephyr explained, his tone.. different. He had planned all of this out as he was walking this way, and when he was explaining it his emotions went out the window. He didn't sound rude or mean because he was talking to her, instead he sounded like he was explaining something more like a war leader.

Tempe leaned herself against the pine tree at the crest of the hill, inspecting it with a slightly frown. The tree was technically her half sister- which was strange to consider. She bit at her lip quietly, straightening and glancing at him as he started to speak. She once again folded her arms across her chest. "Good to know you have it all plotted out, big guy." She huffed, thinking through for a moment. "I mind, but I also would rather not have to spend forever getting to California from here. What do I have to do?" She asked bluntly, looking up at him in the same severe, distrusting way She usually did.

Zephyr let out a small snort at her words. It was going to be insults... all... the... way. He hoped he could put up with it and not respond for long enough she figured out that it wouldn't get a big reaction. He had a feeling retorting would just make her happy. "Of course you mind. I would never assume you didn't. All you have to do is just BARELY touch my sleeve for a half a second and we'll be there. However, if you do let go before we are actually there, you will be lost in the shadows forever with no hope of ever coming back." Zephyr explained drily. Honestly, at this point, he really didn't hold much value for her, soooo he would probably be not TOO devastated if she got too disgusted, let go, and disappeared. On the other hand, he didn't want to go back to camp like *Chiron, she died. Sorry. But I'm here! Yay!*.

Tempe gave him a dry look at his response. "Its better than having to hold hands." She mocked, gently taking her ponytail holder out and re-tying it so it was higher. "Alright, got it. Don't let go of the big death metal kid or you'll get swallowed by shadows. Sounds pretty easy." She huffed sarcastically, strolling to his side and reaching for his sleeve.

"Ugh. Don't injure me before the jump." Zephyr shuddered, shaking his head slightly, his obsidian eyes glittering in the sunlight. "Big death metal kid. That's a new one." He said with a sarcastic tone. "Should be. Don't let go=don't die. Sounds easy enough to me." He said, and when she actually took a hold of his sleeve he smiled for the first time, though it was wry. "By the way, I've never teleported other people before, so have fun being the experiment." He said cheerfully, then stepped into the shadow of the tree and they were gone. As always, it felt comforting to him. It was black, and very cold, the shadows like living things, tendrils of empty, cold ice twirling around your skin. A second later they popped out in another shadow. A truck zoomed past, almost smacking into them, but since they were on the shadow of the building they were most on the sidewalk. "Oh look, you're alive." Zephyr had the grace to try and not sound disappointed.

"The feeling of disgust is mutual, don't worry." Tempe scoffed, glaring up at him. "I'm surprised, seeing as this seems like the usual way you dress." She huffed, curling the cuff of his sleeve into her hand. "...that's so fun for me." She said flatly, stepping with him into the shadow. It was slightly uncomfortable, but not unpleasant. When they emerged, she released his cuff and stumbled back from the truck in front of her with a slight gasp. She set her hands on her knees and took in a few slow breaths to adjust to the new place, straightening after. "...you're totally conspicuous. You know that, right?" She scoffed, ignoring his comment and straightening.

Zephyr rolled his eyes at her comments but did not answer. After the jump, really, it was such a long ways and he had carried her with him.. he had to use energy to keep her in one piece... he was exhausted. He stayed where he was and caught his breath, trying to stop his head from spinning. He leaned against a nearby pole and blinked a couple times before looking around. "I know. I'm not going to dress like a person who has no problems in their life just to blend in." He grunted, running a hand through his hair in a habit that was going to show up quite frequently. After a second he straightened, his eyes sharpening again as he looked around in more detail this time. "I tried to get us near the shop. It should be just down here." Zephyr said, starting down the sidewalk and sticking to the building where the shadows were the thickest. He sunburnt much more quickly than others, but he never tanned- the sun just burned and hurt. He tried to avoid being anywhere near direct sunlight.

Temperance watched him warily, looking him over with the slightest bit of concern. She rolled her eyes once He straightened and went back to being unlikable. "Blending in is a pretty important aspect of this mission. If any sort of monster shows up, you're an automatic target because of how much you stand out. In your free time, I don't care what you wear. But I swear to the gods, if you get us caught because you absolutely need to be emo-skull-punk rocker style, I'll yank your soul from the underworld myself." She huffed, starting on down the street in the direction he mentioned. Unlike him, she walked in the sun. It was nice, to her. She had always been a little more on the sporty side, good with flying things, like balls. It got her an even tan, which wasn't unappealing. She was really quite pretty, when she wasn't with someone she severely disliked. Even then, maybe.

Zephyr had, as much as he would NOT admit it, tried actually quite hard to keep Temperence in one piece. When traveling through shadows, they wanted to get in between your molecules and you could come out partially transparent or even with limbs missing. It took extreme concentration from the person who was traveling to keep everyone together. He had known this going in, and yet he had still tried. This showed that he did value her, even if the slightest bit. "I know, I'm sorry! If a monster comes just step aside and let it eat me then you can continue. have fun." He couldn't help but saying, sounding the tiniest bit angry as he walked a little quicker towards their destination. He had been trying SO HARD not to respond and he blew it. Zephyr couldn't wear anything but black- that's just who he was. Maybe dark blue if you got lucky. "It's not an emo-punk-rocker style. I just prefer wearing black. Accept it." he stated in a firm yet quiet tone, looking up as he saw Crusty's shop. He glanced over at Temperence before entering. Even her beauty irritated him. It was hard to focus and remember he didn't like her when she was standing over there like *look at me in all my brilliance in the shining sun*.
