Adam Reiner Jacobs ~-----------------------------------------------~ Adam jolted as he heard footsteps approaching. Okay then... wow this was overwhelming. Adam gave her a small smile as Mark handed her a form. "Hello, please fill this out." Adam told her. Trying not to sound unkind. Mark let her take the paper before sipping another sip of his coffee. Adam glanced back at the firehouse entrance as he frowned. He looked back at Aaren he held up a finger. "That's all good- just.. give me a second. Sorry." He said awkwardly, standing and hurrying out the door. He reached the tied-up appaloosa outside, who was standing patiently. He patted her neck, kissing her forehead. "You alright out here, girl?" He asked. Summer knickered softly, butting him with her nose. He sighed quietly in relief. "... this is so awkward. I sort of want to ditch." He mumbled to her. Summer seemed to agree with him. But he knew he shouldn't. Adam shook his head, making his way back inside and taking his seat before Aaren once again. "Sorry, had to check on Summer." He said, smiling awkwardly.

Aaren Grey Kitt . ༺═────────────═༻ . Aaren was slightly taken aback when the man interviewing him got up and left, his head turning to see Adam leave the fire station. The young man scoffed, unprofessional much? Before turning back around, his eyes caught onto a new figure that had just stepped into the station. His brows rose as he slowly took in the young woman's appearance- good god. So help me. he thought to himself. The pretty blonde walked up to the front and introduced herself to Mark as another volunteer. Could this day get any better? She introduced herself as Eloise Browns, pretty name. He felt himself staring and quickly averted his gaze back to the door, where Adam was now walking back in with a short apology and his excuse to go check up on his horse. Yeah...sure... "No, you're good. I should probably check on Asterix soon as well. She may be getting a little antsy." His attention stayed focused on the younger man as he took a seat. "As for weather- we've done plenty of trail rides in the rain and heat, shes perfectly fine with anything. And groups..." He trailed off briefly, no- he didn't like working in groups. But he obviously had to for this job so he came up with a quick, half-truth. "I work well with people I like and get along with, which I'm sure you can relate to. As it seems like you've been searching for people to work with you for a while now." Was that rude? No... I don't think so at least he though to himself. Aaren didn't like being bossed around, but he was a good listener- "I find myself to be an excellent listener."

Adam Reiner Jacobs ~-----------------------------------------------~ Adam gave him a look but nodded. "Yeah... Okay then. You're accepted, for now, welcome to the team. When the others arrive and whatnot... Then we'll all go back up to the camp and I'll explain more. Alright?" He asked, glancing at the two females still filling out their forms. If the others weren't going to be here soon he'd have to let Mark tell them they needed to be here tomorrow instead. It was getting later in the day... and Adam had work to do. And training. Technically. Adam stiffened and shifted in his seat once again, feeling uncomfortable. (Sorry it's short again...)

Eloise Browns - Eloise nodded and took the paper "Okay, will do" she said brightly. As she went to leave, she dared a glance at the cute dark haired boy, and caught him staring. Eloise averted her eyes immediately and went over to sit down and fill out her form. The form wasn't very long, so she managed to finish it very quickly. Form: ------------- Human Name: Eloise Rae Browns Human Age: 23 Horse Breed: Pintaloosa Horse Stable Name: Tango Horse Gender: Gelding Friendly with other horses?: Yes, very extraverted Eloise looked around unsure of where to put her form, or who to give it too, so she just decided to get up, and walk back over to Adam and Mark. "Here's my form" she said giving them the piece of paper. Eloise kept her eyes away from the cute dark haired boy this time, not wanting to have another awkward little moment.

Aaren Grey Kitt . ༺═────────────═༻ . "Sounds good. I'll be out in the front if you need me for anything." The black-haired young man nodded to his new boss before sliding his chair back and standing up. Making sure to push the chair in behind him first, Aaren made his way to the front of the station- his eyes briefly looking over the two girls working on their forms. Good luck, Aaren scoffed quietly as he walked out the door and to the trailer parking lot. His own trailer was now joined with two others, probably people coming in or the girls inside he thought quietly to himself. A small, familiar nicker sounded from the side of his white trailer as he made his way around. A small smile grew on his lips as he spotted Asterix nudging at her now-empty net of hay. Aaren chuckled softly, walking up to the mare who had now noticed him, he stroked her forehead, straightening out her forelock before unknotting her front the post where he was now and walking her to the front of the station where another mare, Summer presumably, stood waiting for Adam. Aaren tied Asterix ten or so feet away from the other mare. Asterix's head lifted, her ears swiveling in the other mares' direction but then relaxed and fed on the net of hay that was in front of her. "Alright, well- you two have to get used to each other. Whether you want to or not." He walked back to the trailer to check off his needed list, only to get to Asterix's tack and his clothing and bathroom essentials and find they weren't there. A loud groan from the man, running an agitated hand over his face and releasing a list of expletives. He forgot to pack everything they needed. Of course he did! Wonderful... Speed walking back to the fire station and popping his head in, his voice rang out, "So um- I'm going to head back to my barn real quick and get Asterix's tack and I might also need to stop by my apartment to get my own stuff. I'll be back in an hour...or two, maybe three." Without waiting for a reply the young man raced to his truck, turned his key in, and started a drive back to his barn. - 2.5 Hours Later - Everything was packed. Aaren made sure of it, going over his list at least ten times before accepting that he didn't have anything else to pack. Asterix already had her bridle and saddle, as well as a couple of saddle pads, but just in case Aaren packed three of his newer saddle pads and different types of boots. For himself, Aaren packed 10 different shirts, the same for pants except there were double of his favorites, and of course all of his other products. Pulling back into the trailer parking, Aaren was relieved to see that Asterix was still munching on an almost finished net of hay and drinking from a smaller trough of water. He hopped out of his black truck and started back to the station, he could only hope the girls had taken forever to finish their forms and interviews. If they hadn't and they had been waiting two hours for him to come back... he was screwed.

Adam Reiner Jacobs ~-----------------------------------------------~ Adam glanced up, taking a form from the blond lady, and glanced at the brown-haired lady. He noted she still wasn't done and wondered if she was just sitting there. He turned his blue eyes back to the blond in front of him and smiled slightly. Adam looked down at the form. "Ah... Eloise, is it? Lovely name... Let's see... horse gelding, extraverted... He seems fun." He commented, then looked up at her. He paused when Aaren told him he had forgotten some things and needed to go get them. He nodded, but deep down he felt... annoyed. Was just no one prepared anymore? He noticed Summer standing next to a new horse. Who he could only assume was Aaren's mare, Asterix. Adam wasn't worried at all. Summer was quite the chill mare. He glanced back at Eloise and spoke up. "For this job, we will be mostly isolated in the mountains, with little connection to the actual camp. You will have to work with the other horses and the other members of the team if you wish to join. Is that okay?" Adam asked, eyes trailing back to the female. This is stressful. Now I know why I don't work as a boss.... He thought bitterly, watching the woman. She seemed nice. It would be nice to finally work with someone. Someone he prayed wasn't annoying. Eloise Browns - Eloise sat down in the chair across from Adam when Aaron got up to leave, rolling her eyes a bit when he said he had to go back to his stables and appartment as he forgot something. People these days, never prepared. "Mhm thats me!... Thank you!... yep, he sure is!..." she chimed in brightly everytime Adam said something. That was a nervous tick of hers. Always getting a little too bright and happy under stress. "Yep, thats fine." she said confidently. While she was in college, for Disaster Management, her class and small groups would go out and do team building excerises and trips all the time. Either way, she loved to work with people. And the disconnection from camp? That was fine too.

Adam Reiner Jacobs ~-----------------------------------------------~ Adam nodded. She seemed fun as well... "Are you alright with sharing a cabin with the two other girls? If they are accepted." He asked, glancing down at the form and handing it to Mark, who was watching Adam talk. Making sure he picked up whenever Adam got too stressed to talk. He nodded at her answers. "Alright then. You're accepted, for now. I'll be taking you back up to the camp soon, so if you could, you can tack-" He paused, glancing over at the form he had given Mark. "-Tango up, and tie him by my horse, Summer, and Aaren's horse, Asterix." Adam said with a kind smile. He was hoping she hadn't forgotten anything. He glanced at the brown-haired woman and shrugged, leaning over to Mark. "If she doesn't turn her form in after a bit then I'm gonna go get groceries and get these two to the camp, just tell her to come back tomorrow or give her a bed to sleep in and I'll be back tomorrow." He told the fire chief. Who rolled his eyes but nodded. Adam nodded back. Summer was shifting from her feet calmly, drinking down some water that was in a bucket by her feet.

Aaren Grey Kitt . ༺═────────────═༻ . Aaren walked into the station just in time to hear the end of Adam and Eloise...that's her name right...? Yeah- Eloises interview. The corners of Aarens mouth curved up slowly into a smirk but turned his gaze to the floor before sitting down in one of the leather chairs at one of the desks. Leaning forward so his right elbow was propped up against the wooden table, Aaren spared himself a glance around the room. Specifically at the blonde and brunette in the room, from the looks and sound of it Eloise was accepted for the job as well. Fantastic. Aaren shifted in his seat before leaning back and musing a hand through the hair covering his forehead, his brown eyes taking another quick look around the room before pulling out his phone. -ONE TEXT FROM MOTHER- The screen read. The young mans brows furrowed but he swope up and read the single text message from his mom. Sent at 9:47 AM this morning, it read; "Hey sweetie, did you get accepted?" Chewing on the inside of his cheek absentmindedly, a bad habit he had picked up somewhere, he responded with a simple "yeah" ... "Oh wonderful. Well, I'll miss your visits. Stay safe and keep me updated." Yeah right. Stay safe. "Of course." "Love you, sweetie." At that, Aaren shut his phone off- not bothering with a reply. She didn't. He knew that much, she was the one who kicked him out of her house in the first place and practically made him sign up for a job that rarely gets to visit family members and is in the middle of nowhere. Yeah sure, love you too, mom. The young man grimaced and placed his phone in his back pocket. His hand fiddled with one of the pens on the desk, weaving it through his fingers swiftly. A small trick one of his friends had taught him when he was in kindergarten. Aaren tried to take his mind off his mother by focusing back on the people in the station, observing them quietly while wondering how much longer there was until the ride up to the cabins. Hopefully, it wouldn't be as cramped as Adam said it was, it was probably bigger than where he was staying before, so that's a small plus.

Eloise Browns - Eloise nodded "Yep thats fine" she said brightly."Great! Thank you!" she said getting up and leaving to go unload Tango and tack him up. Eloise walked outside and proceeded to do so, unloading Tango from her trailer, and tacking him up. Eloise noticed how Asterix was so far from Summer and knew Aaren put her that far away for a reason, so Eloise tied Tango next to Summer, but on the opposite side from Asterix. She spaced Tango and Summer out so that they couldn't nose, but they could still get to know each other. Eloise then loaded Tango up with the big saddlebags containing all of her belongings. She had a small backpack she'd have to carry herself, but Tango held almost all of her things. After she finished getting Tango all ready to go, she walked back inside and plopped down in a leather chair, a little ways a way from Aaren, but still in the same area. Eloise pulled her phone out and started to scroll aimlessly though TikTok, daring a glance at Aaren every now and then, but thankfully not catching his eyes.
