Selena Everwood "Lena" - Airtafae (314062) (a little older and tougher, mean almost, love to fight) These kids are strong enough and sturdy enough, maybe even dumb enough, to take a beating. They tend to fight first and ask questions later. Because they're able to take a punch as well as they throw one, they tend to be rather stubborn and will hold their ground in conflicts. They tend not to respect anyone unless the other person manages to beat them in a fight, they'll respect the stronger party. While they appear to be unruly and independent, they are usually won over with free food. Their strength means that they burn a lot of calories, and in this world with limited food that means they are almost always hungy. Offer them some food and they might just follow you home. Wren Brown "Birdie" - Dusk acres (322713) (wirey and smart, untrusting, avoid conflicts, look for opportunities) There is a lot of variety in these kids. They can be smart, not needing physicality to survive. They can be fast, able to outrun any situation. Or they can be a bit of both. Due to their intelligence and speed, they've been able to watch a lot of groups from the shadows and they know that humans are just as bad as any wild dog or wolf. They tend to be extremely wary when approached and skeptical when offered free things as they realize that it could be a trap. They respond best to being shown respect and being offered deals, working for their food and shelter makes more sense to them than random acts of kindness. Conrad Falkner "Falcon"
Played by Airtafae (314062) Name: Conrad Falkner Nickname/Codename: Falcon Gender: Male Age: 27 Rank: Adult Appearance: Falcon can seem intimidating to people at first glance. He is tall, standing at around 6’2 or 6’3, and has a fit, muscular build. He’s the kind of guy that one would think twice about crossing. Falcon has somewhat paler skin that tans fairly easily in the warmer months. His straight black hair is shorter and usually a little ruffled. He has no beard, but there is some stubble on his chin and cheeks, giving him a rugged appearance. Falcon’s eyes are a sharp steel grey, often seen with a cold expression. Falcon has a few scars here and there, but he does have one particularly long, jagged scar on the inside of his right forearm. He has a gruff voice, which can boom out in strong and powerful tones. Personality: Falcon is a rather sullen individual who tends to stay by himself. He never seems very welcoming at first, and often scares little ones away with his seemingly cold appearance and loner tendencies. Indeed, he is rather quiet, and he does enjoy spending long periods of time by himself, but there is more to him than meets the eye. One thing to watch out for is that he does hold grudges, but he only holds grudges against those who have truly done something to deserve it. Unfortunately, once someone loses his trust, it is immensely difficult to regain it, if they ever manage to regain it at all. However, he does have his good sides. For example, Falcon is very intelligent, and can get out of complex problems with ease. He is also a very good poet, but he has never told anyone that. Falcon may not admit it, but he does have a secret soft side. He cared deeply for his niece in the time he watched over her, and nothing broke his heart more than losing her. He will also drop everything immediately to help a kid in need, and he will protect his loved ones to the death. However, his apparent failure in protecting his niece has caused him to doubt his ability to protect, and he still blames himself for what happened on that fateful day. Likes: Archery/sharpshooting, Rainy days, Commanding, Writing poetry, Dogs Dislikes: Being disrespected, Anyone who insults him, Large crowds, Lots of questions, Explosions History: Conrad grew up in a large family on the outskirts of the city. As the eldest son, he helped his dad defend and provide for the family. He stayed with his parents and younger siblings until his parents died from a combination of illness and old age. Since his siblings were all grown up at the time, he no longer needed to watch over them. He left, striking out on his own until he received a message years later from his younger sister. Conrad hurried to his dying sister’s side, and after her death, he took her little daughter under his protection. They had a rocky relationship, as he had a difficult time with the fiery, independent personality of his niece. After they were separated, he searched for her unceasingly. During one of his searches, he came upon the Haven, where he has been residing ever since. At this point, he has despaired of ever finding his niece, and he blames himself for losing her and for breaking the promise he made to keep her safe. She has dark, chocolate brown eyes that appear to be calculating every move she or her opponents make. Her skin is rather fair and doesn't tan much, it mostly freckles in the sun. She is of average height with a lean muscle build from years spent running and hauling supplies. She has an intimidating but welcoming aura, like that of a mother. Personality: Optimistic despite the state of the world and hardworking. She's serious when she has to be, fun and nurturing when the work is done. She loves kids but refuses to have any of her own since she can't justify bringing a child into the world as it is now. So she "adopts" all the strays she comes across instead. Likes: Cooking, sewing, watching kids just be kids and do dumb kid things Dislikes: People who hurt kids, seeing people suffer History: Not much is known about her past, even to the other members of Haven. She helped found haven when she was a mere 21yrs old and has been here ever since. She dodges questions about her past when they come up and focuses instead on rescuing as many kids as she can from the darkness. She has welcomed her fair share of kids to Haven and has even seen some grow up and leave to start Havens in other cities. It's hard for her to see her children leave, but the struggle and heartache is worth it to her when she gets to see a helpless child survive to adulthood. Other: Her greatest regret is a mystery, though some have noticed that she drinks heavily and sits alone in the darkness at the same time every year. He has built up a fairly muscular physique thanks to the regular meals at Haven and the work he has done to help them grow. While caucasion, he usually sports a mild tan, honey brown eyes, and short, unkempt, rusty brown hair from his time outside in the sun. He regularly sports jeans with a simple leather belt and matching, tattered leather boots. Around Haven, he often chooses not to wear a shirt, only being convinced to put one on when the weather gets cold or if he has to leave the safety of Haven to help gather supplies. For his first birthday at Haven, he was given a bright red jacket that he fell in love with on a supply run but he didn't want to risk losing their supplies so he left it behind. He wears it sparingly as he does not want to damage the special gift that the adults brought back for him. Personality: hot headed, passionate, and loyal Likes: food, the color red, and martial arts Dislikes: being hungry, and being alone History: Kai was born near the edges of the city. From a young age, all he jnew was struggle and strife. His parents were killed or died when he was very yound, and his memories of them are very vague. Despite being so young, his survival instincts kicked in and gave him the initiative to protect his younger sibling. For several years, the two managed to survive together. Kai used his strentgh to take challenges head on, and his sibling gradually grew smarter and wiser watching from his shadow. However, Kai's lack of experience eventually caught up to him. At the age of 14, he was seperated from his sibling. Despite his desperate attempts to find them, he never did. What he eventually found, or rather what eventually found him, was Haven. Her skin is very fair, prone to burn and her shoulders and cheeks have become evenly freckled. Her eyes are icy blue, mischievous and smart-looking. Personality: She's wary of strangers and jumpy from her wild days. Until she gets to know you, she appears standoffish and cold. Once she's familiar with you, though, she’s a total sweetheart. She’s playful and funny, and really, really cares. Once you’re safe with her, you’re locked in for life. She really wants to become a doctor and often volunteers with the nurses. She has a brain for science and is very quick to pick up patterns and evidence. She ended up running away out of fear when she was about 13 and barely survived on her own before being approached by a Haven member at 15. Since he can't run, he hides a lot and often stays in his hiding places for hours without moving. He's wary of letting others get close since he wouldn't be able to fight back but he also knows that he can't go on alone. He is easily startled by loud noises and tends to try to avoid conflict. He loves affection and being close to others after they've won his trust. Likes: Learning, satisfying his curiosity, making friends Dislikes: Violence, loud noises, being completely helpless History: Blaise lived a rather content childhood despite the state of the world with his parents up till the age of 10, when his parents were killed in a dispute over resources with a violent rogue. For the next two years, Blaise survived on his own by stealing food from others with hit and run type tactics. This worked well for him until he took a hard fall and found himself paralyzed from the waist down about a year ago. Since then it has been much harder for him to gather food and he is growing thinner and thinner. He knows that if something doesn't change soon, he will die alone in this world. The second? His arm, decorated with deep gashes and visibly infected. It will need amputation at the least. His skin is sickly pale, almost gray, and he radiates feverish heat constantly. His eyes are dark brown, blending with his pupils. His hair is dark brown and overgrown, falling out in clumps. Personality: At the moment, he is a little zombie-like in his illness and nearing death. He is weak and an easy target for others. When he was healthy, he had always been more of a listener than a talker, but that wouldn't stop him from engaging in a conversation. He is unsure of who he really is as he's always put on a different personality for every interaction, and has never really had a long-term relationship with any person. She has a slender build and paler skin that tans mildly in the summer. Her hair is a dark chocolate brown and is a bit wavy. She normally keeps it in a messy bun, but she will sometimes leave it down. Selena has a few freckles here and there, mostly on her cheekbones and the bridge of her nose. Her right eye is a lovely pale green color, but her left eye is milky white due to blindness. She also has severe burn scarring running down the left side of her forehead to the bottom of her jaw. Personality: Lena is very independent, and prefers to do everything herself. She hates having to ask people for help, and she has a hard time accepting help, even when she knows she needs it. Her strong-willed personality has gotten her into many a tight spot before, but it can also help her stand fast in the face of danger. For example, Lena’s strong will has caused her to give to others without a second thought. Despite her fiery personality, Lena is truly compassionate and loves to help other people. Because of this, she longs to become a master healer. Lena is also quite sensitive about certain topics, such as her parents and her permant scar. In tough situations, Lena doesn’t back down. Even when it seems foolish, even when it seems like there’s no hope left, she just keeps going. This determination is how she has managed to survive all this time. Sadly, her father died one day protecting the family from rogues, and her mother died from an illness not long afterward. She was placed in the care of her uncle, who took up the role of protecting her. Unfortunately, about a year ago, she disobeyed her uncle’s orders after they got into a quarrel and wandered unknowingly into a huge series of explosions that hit the area close to where they were residing. One of the explosives went off a few feet away from her. The impact threw her against a wall, knocking her unconscious, and the fiery blast burned the left side of her face. When she woke up, she realized that she was alone and could no longer see out of her left eye. Ever since then, she has been on her own, trying to survive with half the sight she once had, and trying to find the last living relative she has ever known. She has a smattering of freckles across her rosy cheeks. She's sort of tall and thin but she can definitely throw a punch. Briar wears a blue jacket over her shirt and leggings that stop just above her ankles. Her trainers are black and white. Personality: Briar has a fiery personality. She's too stubborn for her own good and hates being wrong but she isn't an idiot. She knows when to step down, when she's lost the fight or when she's outnumbered. Briar is snappy and gets annoyed easily but surprisingly if you're good enough friends, she might open up to you and is a good listener. She enjoys making jokes and teasing others. Likes: Warm weather, Food, Winning, Animals Dislikes: Rain, Losing a fight, Being made fun of, Rude people, Bugs History: Briar didn't have an easy childhood. Her father left when she was 5, too young to remember him very well and her mother was left with Briar and her sister. When she was 13, the three of them went out and Briar got lost in the woods. But the time she had found her way back, her mum and sister were long gone. Briar didn't miss them much, they'd never been close with Briar because of her temper. If there’s food involved she’s blindly trusting. She’s not one to turn down a fight, especially if there are resources involved. She’s strong and she knows it, making her stubborn. She knows that she can probably win the fight and if she can’t? She hasn’t thought that far ahead yet. If she finds a friend or alliance she’ll stick with them, better to have company than to die alone. Likes: Dogs, food, winning Dislikes: Having to hide, being weak, running out of food or water History: When Wren was born her mom died, leaving her and her 3 siblings alone with her dad. He is a manipulative person, causing him to get into a lot of trouble. He can come off as nervous and shy at first, but don't underestimate his ability to manipulate and hit a nerve. When he was 8 his parents drifted, they barely looked his way, let alone talked to him. They seemed to try and act like he didn't exist. So he would slip onto the streets, during the day he roamed, during the night he did so as well. He did have to go home to make sure his parents did call the police- or whatever. So, he lived his time on the streets, gaining the name 'Phantom' by the people. He began sneaking into bars and manipulating people into trading him food and water for him to do business for them. And that worked and became his main source of supplies. While on a job once, he met another rat, who he became... friends with. They didn't stick around each other, but whenever their paths did cross, they always helped each other out. Adrien figured if anyone he could trust, another male rat his age would be the person to do so. They needed some way to survive, and they needed each other. But after an... incident, they begin to rely on each other more and more. Completing business deals that Adrien got them. Known as Phantom and Bolt. Other: His biggest regrt is trusting a certain person (SPOOKY) and his greatest wish is he hopes to see Cade/Bolt grow up with him, in a world that they don't have to always worry about survival. He has blue eyes and freckles dotting his face. He has pale skin, but not so pale he looks sick. Personality: Cade is not trusting in any way. His anxiety is heightened by the dystopian world so he doesn't talk to anyone. He's fast, faster than most, and he uses it to his advantage. He doesn't bother trading for things, he steals, it works better for him. On the off chance he does make an alliance he is extremely loyal. He is also very territorial of his stuff. Unlike most rats he'll stand his ground if he thinks there's a chance he could win a dispute. When he was 8 his mom died in a fight, this is where Cade learned that he was fast, he was able to out run his moms attackers. He had an alliance with another rat, if they saw each other they would trade food and supplies. Then there was an incedent, driving him and the other rat to trust each other.
