WIP, this is a rough sketch. Name: Arlette Wright Gender: Female Age: 19 Job: N/a. Appearance: Arlette is of a fairly average height, petite in frame, but standing just over 5'4. Compared to others, she could be called on the flatter side - not that it has ever hindered her in any way. Neither has her fun-size height. She maintains that as the youngest, she has the privilege of being the smallest next to her brothers. It is also the reason why she is the only jockey out of her siblings despite their family stable being wholly oriented to training racehorses, so she has plenty of stuff to rub in her siblings’ faces. She has mousy-brown hair that comes down to about the middle of her back, which she usually keeps out of the way by braiding it. Although naturally wavy, wet hair is a nightmare because it goes curly and becomes difficult to manage. Like her brothers, she also inherited the family eyes; their almond shaped eyes with the light coloured eyes, with hers being bright green. It is almost a shame that they lack the familiar kindness from Reggie’s family. Her features are by no means lacking with straight eyebrows, the straight nose, the high cheekbones and the slender jaw. For her, it isn’t unusual that people look back a second time - more like a norm. Personality: A sweet enough girl when she wants to be - which isn’t often enough apparently - Arlette can be unexpectedly cute amongst her siblings, especially with Louis. However, she holds a strong front among other people, particularly those that have links to Reggie. Unlike Louis, she has a rocky relationship with him. Anything to do with the Sawyer family isn’t her thing at all. This is largely to do with the influence from her mother. She is without doubt arrogant and harshly blunt - there’s no point in buttering something up, if it has to be said anyway - tactless in other words. She is, however, adventurous and is a massive fan of trying out new things and going to new places. Also a massive fan of football (courtesy of having two brothers), she likes people who are equally invested into it. Please, do not ever invite her to come to a bar, or a club, or anything. She loves her drinks and is a party lover - actually, she is more of the bar fight initiator - but we don’t talk about it. Discipline: Flat racing. Side Discipline: X-country. Father: Colton Wright Mother: Sara Wright Siblings: Louis Wright (19), Nathaniel Wright (25) (NB: Dating + Kid) Horse: Freak Ask Me Less. Riding Level: Intermediate. Backstory: Arlette is Reginald Sawyer’s cousin, from their maternal sides, although the two are not exactly close. Born in Berlin as the younger twin, she was raised in the lap of wealth, so-as-to-speak. Her father was highly invested in racehorses and at some point, invested into his own training center, which became in-and-of-itself, pretty successful. So, Arlette was raised on the back of a Thoroughbred, and now, is one of the locum jockeys for her father’s business. Her life with Reggie goes back to when they were children. With Louis and Reggie being equally as genius as each other, they often ended up leaving her behind, because she couldn’t keep up with them. She often also ended up as the joke of every prank and little plothole the two boys would plan. And whilst she isn’t a fool, she is often unable to see the little traps that Reggie deploys, falling straight into every one. Romantic Status: Single. GF/BF: N/a. Likes: Nightouts, travelling, the beach and reading. Dislikes: Equally pushy people (this one is a bit 50/50 because sometimes, it's a house on fire, other times, a burning disaster). (?) Gender: Colt Age: 2 (Officially 3). Breed: Thoroughbred. Appearance: Currently at 15.3hh, Hidalgo is expected to peak around 16.3hh at full maturity. His youth is barely visible now, with all the components slotting into each to mold a stunning creature. His neck joins to his broad chest naturally and is balanced with the length of his back. Rather unusually for a racing thoroughbred, he is an all black equine, with not a single white hair across his body. Personality: Hidalgo is still young per say and has a lot of spunk and energy in him. He loves his job, enjoys any rewards and is well happy amongst his fellow peers. Watching him in the field is one of Arlette's secret pleasures, particularly as Hidalgo takes off, kicking his heels up in excitement. Likes: Running, being with other equines, Dislikes: Not a lot - he is still afraid of loud, grating sounds and shies at plastic bags. It’s a working progress. Owner: Arlette Wright. Name: Zechariah 'Zeke' Amos Maharaj Gender: Male Sexuality: Bisexual Age: 17 Job: n/a Appearance: Zeke is of average height, with dark bronze skin and short black hair that is parted to the side. His face is naturally smiling and always has some emotion shown on it, no matter how inconsequential the cause. He has a broad nose towards the end, dark and clearly visible eyebrows, and thin almond-shaped eyes. They're golden-brown with yellow highlights, growing lighter towards the middle. He enjoys wearing some jewellery - usually stud earrings, an anklet, and a necklace every now and then. Zeke has a warm feel about him, whether it's from his dimpled expression or his frequent exclamations. Personality: The first thing you'll notice about Zachariah is his opinionated, talkative nature. The second is how, regardless of whether it's raining or sunny, he'll complain about how cold it is. (Despite frequent suggestions, he doesn't grab an extra jersey.) He adores summer and everything related to it, and the winter months are probably his least favourite of the year. He's very vocal about anything that pops into his head at any given time with the people that he knows, but tends to screen his words slightly more around others. Although fun-loving and laidback, he has a very petty side and can hold a grudge for ages, even if it was partially caused by him. Has some commitment issues, especially in relationships with guys (as much as he might tell you that he's comfortable in his sexuality, this definitely isn't the case. This wasn't helped by his parents' terrible reception, and now he's basically just floating around while they come to terms with it.) He's incredibly insecure about basically everything and relies on others' opinions of him, which inevitably leads to disaster. Rider Name: Louis Wright Gender: Male Age: 19 Appearance: Louis’ image holds to many of the family traits, such the prominent cheekbones, the tall, straight nose and narrow lips. Like his sister, he is very much a looker to take another glance at, although he doesn’t make any use of it. His eyes are structured as a hunter type with thicker brows that are a shade darker than his hair. As a colour, they are steel gray with flecks of green. He usually looks open and warm, with a cheeky mirth in his eyes. If anyone had to describe him in a few words, “good boy” would be in. He has no tattoos, no piercings, wears glasses and is always clean shaven with his hair styled. Oddly despite his tall, six foot frame, people often comment that he seems like a passive person from his casual style. Which is quite far from the truth. Personality: NB: ESFP - A? Extremely open-minded and accepting, Louis is miles different from the rest of his immediate family. He is exceedingly nice - no one has ever heard a harsh word from him even when he’s reached the end of his tether. But he is also very curious and has a desire to execute his own justice based on what he sees. Which is likely why he isn’t easily influenced by others. He has a firm grip on what he views as good and bad, fair, unfair, right, wrong. Next to his sister, he does seem rather boring. He is a massive homebody and could live inside for eternity. He is also one mini-genius, which is why he is friends with Reggie - to see who is the better genius. Riding experience: More-or-less the same as Arlette except that at some point, he became too tall and too heavy to be having racing as his discipline, so he switched over to eventing. He got himself Baby and they do some small shows here and there. Unlike his sister, he likes to keep himself in the background and shows for fun, rather than the money or the title. Been thinking about rejoining for a while, so why not? _______ Name -- Dublin Ó Damháin Gender -- Male Age -- 24 years Job -- Stable hand Appearance -- Dublin's face is small and pointed with thick eyebrows and dark blue eyes. His skin is "paper white" with vibrant freckles spattered across his cheeks. Fluffy, pale brunette hair falls slightly past his shoulders in a side part, typically poking out from under a beanie with a big swoop in front. At a skin-and-bones-build roughly 5' 9" tall, Dublin stands with a low, laid back posture and a bored expression. He usually dresses in dark colors, staying loose and comfortable in things such as baggy sweatpants and oversized hoodies. Personality -- Dublin's words tend to come out sharp and stingy, even if he means to be nice. He's not exactly mean, he just has a habit of quickly jumping on the defensive and scaring people off. Typically he appears to be the unapproachable stranger stalking the edge of the group, but if you bring up space, weapons, or technology, he'll nonstop talk your ear off with a giant, cuddly grin. He's the restless adventurer type with a constant need to fiddle with something, even when he shouldn't. Dublin would charge into an active volcano just to "experience it". Although very good at adapting to tough situations on his own, his ability to deal with people under any sort of stress completely dissipates 'til he's a fiery, rambling mess of tears. All in all he's a tough code to crack and takes some time to get used to dealing with. Some Likes -- Space, weapons, technology, reptiles, bunnies, loud music, books, lots of warmth, watching rain from inside. Some Dislikes -- Being wet, cold weather, dogs, formal attire, not wearing a hat, sitting still, repeating himself. Backstory -- Dublin was born and raised in the Glasgow area of Scotland. It was just him for the most part-- his single mother usually busy working or sleeping-- which left lots of room for him to wander and get into trouble. He never had many close friends growing up and didn't do well in school due to a lack of interest. He fell into a life on the couch with an addiction to nicotine and a lack of fulfillment. After doing nothing with his life for just short of twenty years, he went to move in with his aunt Lydia in the United States after his mother was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer the year prior. She didn't want him to be on his own after she was gone, so she sent him to her. In Virginia, Dublin went through the ever-growing frustrations of people not understanding his accent or slang at all, which led to him mostly staying silent. But on the bright side of it all, his aunt forced a strong work ethic on him and he began laboring at various farms and pop-up shops. He started learning to ride on her couple horses and developed a strong love for dressage. Dublin is still very much a work in progress, but his life skills are coming along as he ventures from place to place. He's just now come to work and train at White Oaks due to Aunt Lydia's orders, and that should be a whole new adventure on its own. Father -- Shawn L. Clearly. He stands at about 16.2hh. His mane and tail are thin and unimpressive, but his lovely canter distracts from it. Age -- 15 years Personality -- Danny is a very goofy, playful horse that has trouble focusing for very long. He'll often doze off into his own world and freak out when he remembers there's a person or another animal nearby. Preferring a long cuddle session over actual work, Danny's too social for his own good and will get noticeably depressed if he doesn't get a ton of attention. He can be quite difficult to ride well, but if you can get him there, he can be a showstopper. Some Likes -- Hugs, kids, holding things in his mouth, hopping around, getting dirty, popsicles. Dislikes -- Trailers, hoses, farriers, carrots, hind boots. Owner -- Carolina Place, a friend of Dublin's aunt. While Danny is at White Oaks, Dublin will act as his owner. I am technically working on it now. Name: Jack Monarch Gender: Male Age: 18 Job: Stable Hand Appearance: Think first about your own daily life, where you can walk past hundreds of people on the street, and when asked to describe one, your brain switches off, because of how ordinarily plain and conformed they are. Nothing about them ever sticks out, nothing is out of the blue or unique. That is the type of person Jack Monarch is, with his skinny, gangly five eight frame. He has large, downturned eyes set into a slightly tanned face that has a smattering of freckles under his eyes and across his cheeks. His hair is straight, blonde and roughly cut and he typically wears the same outfit across the week. He just has lots of the same outfit in his shelf. Basically, super ordinary civilian getting on with his life. Personality: He isn’t anything special: he isn’t really bright, definitely not sporty and certainly not talented in any way. He enjoys the work he has with the horses, although they are limited to leading them here-and-there, mucking the stables and feeding them as required. He is a bit dense in the head and easy to manipulate because of his lack of experience. He keeps out of the way of the other riders, preferring to spend his time with the rest of the workers on their time off. Think boring, think dumb, think predictable – that’s him. Full Name - Silas Su-Jin Lee "Call" Name - He tends to introduce himself with his full name and then persuade his acquaintances to make him weird new nicknames. This way, lots of people call him vastly different things. Formally, though, he's more used to Su-Jin, after mainly using it to fit in when he moved to South Korea. Gender - Male Age - 20 years Appearance - Su-Jin stands at roughly 5' 7" with broad shoulders and a passive posture. His skin is a fawny beige tone, spattered in little scrapes and scars purely from carelessness. Thick black glasses adorn his sleepy hazel eyes, complimentary to his soft face shape, and his left eyebrow is slightly slit from an old cut that's mostly faded away. Fluffy, velvet soft waves and curls of dark black hair sit messily on his head, long enough to play with and poke out from anything you could try to hide it in, but definitely still considered short. Su-Jin's entire everyday style screams, "I just woke up and don't want to get ready." He also has six fingers on his right hand, a fact which he loves to flaunt and joke about. Though, he's the rare and lucky type where it looks very natural. You really need to consciously count them all to ever notice. Personality - Always looking drunk-tired, Su-Jin is a very talkative young man with an eternally exhausted personality that contradicts itself. He loves fun, hard activities and constant conversation and can seem like such a never-ending spout in that department, yet he's the most lazy, comfort-loving couch potato to ever exist. One look at Su-Jin will make you feel like you're being silently cuddled through the air, him being some fuzzball of pure relaxed vibes. When it comes to how he talks, he's much more alive and quick, but still in a quiet and very care-free manner. His version of a conversation can actually be quite overwhelming, as he doesn't seem to know when to stop talking, or what's actually necessary. Or, even, how to talk slow enough for people to actually register your thoughts. Su-Jin is always up for a long debate or something requiring lots of thought to put his genius qualities to use in, though he's very open about what topics bore him and will straight refuse to allow them any show time. Arguements aren't really his thing, and even if someone is a fiery cannon of rage, he stays relaxed and light-hearted. Often to an annoying extent, in the angry one's view. He's much too quick to throw in jokes and giddy laughs, and also tends to carry an air of humor in even his most serious words. Backstory - Su-Jin was born into a wealtheir-than-most family in Minnesota, USA. There was always a strong Korean influence in his way of life, his mother's side of the family having immigrated from South Korea many years prior, and he began to learn the language early on. Being the oldest of the two children, Su-Jin was always held to a higher standard and told to set example for his sister. In this spirit, he grew comfortable with failure. Sure, he was always incredibly intelligent, but his personality was just too care-free and sleepy to live up to those expectations, or mind that he didn't. Horses became a part of his life very soon after birth, his family owning seven of their own, and he soon became completely obsessed with show jumping, western gaming, and babies. The Lee family lived beside the Canadian border until Su-Jin was thirteen years old, at which point they moved out to South Korea due to mother's desire. Continuing to train with horses was more difficult there, knowing hardly anyone else to do it with. But the family horses had come, so the riding hardly ceased. Seven years later, the family moved back to Minnesota-- Su-Jin still living rent-free under their roof despite being of age. He'd been spending all of his time trying to get into "the big guns," his mind completely set on doing something with horses for the rest of his life. This adventure had taken him for visits in a few different countries, though he'd yet to make anywhere near a name for himself. Minor slap to his ego, he then took to White Oaks in hopes of getting better before he went out showing again. Being far from his family was something very new and daunting to him, but he was much too determined in his dream to let that get in the way. Some Likes - Sleep, lounging, cuddles, lots of sugar and warm drinks, long debate (depending on topic), quiet birds. Some Dislikes - Repetitive noises, getting out of bed, trail rides, not wearing socks, pictures, blood. Some Fears - Religion, snakes, storms, heights. Random Facts - Su-Jin is red-green colorblind. He also has run-ins with vasovagal syncope somewhat often. Father - Casper Lee, born and raised in Minnesota. A somewhat wealthy, very optimistic adventurer type with a lot of influence on Su-Jin. He is Dublin's mom's father's hidden son, unbeknownst to that side of the family. This magic is from when his mother took a vacation tour of Europe, where she "met with" ol' Grandpa. Why did I do this? Honestly, I just want more ways to annoy Dublin. Su-Jin's going to get curious about his ancestry and figure out they're related and then refuse to leave Dubs alone, and I will be thoroughly amused. Mother - Min-Su Lee, lived in South Korea from birth to 17 years old when her family moved to the U.S.. The most elated woman you'd ever meet, with a hell of a brain. Siblings - Ginger Lee. Two years younger. She and Su-Jin never got along whatsoever due to conflicting personality types. Romantic status - Too afraid of relationships to have ever been in one. You're very welcome to try, regardless. Horses - Boss Hogg and Final Remedy. Disciplines - Show juming and western gaming. Mostly takes training in only show jumping for showing purposes, but does gaming on his own just as often. Riding level - Experienced. Riding experience - Been with horses his entire life, riding his family's and training at whatever little barns he could get close to. It may take some time for him to drag his drowsy ass up there, but once he's focused Su-Jin is an incredible horseman. Preferred school horse - No preference. -------- Show name - Boss Hogg Barn name - Hoagie Gender - Gelding Breed - Criollo Appearance - A strong, broad built horse standing roughly 14.3hh. He's a dark, shiny buckskin with max sooty all over. Chrome consists of simply an elliptical star on his forehead. His hair isn't really abundant, though neither is it unimpressive. Age - 13 years Personality - Hoagie typically looks very irritated in an exhausted kind of way. He's kind and decently easygoing, but he really has no drive to do anything. It's kind of the old, bored schoolmaster type vibe, like, "No, kid, you actually don't want to do that." Not much motivates him, not even treats. He still gets spoiled with them, though. Maybe what they say is right-- "horses take after their owners"-- in that Hoagie has a love for long naps and dozing off mid-work. Likes - Sleep, foals, tossing around buckets. Dislikes - Exercise, butterflies, being wet. Owner - Technically, Casper and Min-Su Lee. He's really Su-Jin's horse, though. Discipline - Whatever western things Su-Jin decides to throw at him. Achievements - Nothing really. Other: A late waffle. Show name - Final Remedy Barn name - Criminal Gender - Mare Breed - Dutch Warmblood Appearance - Shiny black with four socks of various shapes and a shaky blaze. She's a long-legged, elegant 16.2hh with an extended gait. Her tail is cut square a bit above the fetlocks and her thin mane is trimmed evenly short. Criminal always has a soft, sweet expression, whether that's her mood or not. Age - 9 years Personality - This mare has the never-ending zoomies. Don't dare step in sight of something merely resembling a jump if you don't want her sending you that way. She's got springs for days in her dainty feet, as well as kicks and rage. It's like she flips a coin to decide when she wants to be sweet as can be or eviler than all hell. At least she's cute, though! Likes - Over-eating, jumping, racing, playing with anything she can reach. Dislikes - Other horses, stalls, standing for too long, salt. Owner - Technically Casper and Min-Su Lee. Actually Su-Jin. Discipline - Show Jumping Achievements - Participated independently in an obscure and unimportant but still difficult international jump circuit for a year or two. Wasn't outstanding, but had a lot of potential. |
