Personality: Amber Lynn grew up with a wealthy but dysfunctional family. Her mother was a schizophrenic who almost always refused to take her meds while her father was too busy with his business to ever show up. There are few times she can remember him in her life. When she was little she had to defend her baby sister from her mother's psychotic behavior and shield their eyes from what her father did to their mom the few times he came home.

So, clearly, she is very strong and isn't afraid of the dark side of the world. She's learned to fend for herself and not let anyone put her in "her place". Amber Lynn can be defensive since that's what she's used to with her father, but if she warms up she can be a very loving and loyal soul. Horses are her peace and they allow her to release the tensions she holds.

Personality: Collin suffers from depression and although he can seem stable he's constantly on the verge of breaking. He's quiet but when he speaks he has a kind and somewhat submissive voice with a half British accent. Due to bad experiences in the past, he's embarrassed about his condition and jumps to leaving when people find out. He actually gets quite frantic when his secret is revealed. The only one he has ever connected with is Lavi, his mare with PTSD. He is very protective of her and dislikes other people handling her.

Backstory: His parents took good care of him and raised him well. They were surprised and extremely worried/upset to find that Collin was depressed and they are constantly checking in with him. Long looong ago his parents had him take a riding lesson to see if horses helped him emotionally and he has been hooked ever since.

Years ago he bought Lavi when she was discovered in a cargo crate in a man's backyard. The mare was bought by him as a yearling and the man stupidly tried riding her right off the bat. Lavi of course wasn't going with the flow and the man was very aggressive with her failures. He'd starve her as punishment after he continuously hit the yearling. When the mare was found she was four years old and on the break of death.

Collin was the only person the mare would allow near her. He bought her and they have been inseparable. She has taught him more than any horse and she's what keeps him sane.

When other people handle her she is afraid, taking every chance she gets to run away, and can resort to being pushy. This behavior is the result of her PTSD from the abusive situation she was stuck in from one year old to four years old.

Okay, I was just going to leave this alone since my babies didn't fit in but I'm quite drawn to it. I've written books for fun about stuff like this and it's gotta be much cooler to do it with other people. So? I'll throw new characters :D

Appearance: He wears black jeans and a red jacket that's hood falls over his head in just the right way to shadow half his face. His black hair is a bit messy and has a longer swoop on his left that usually covers his pale green eye. Its not uncommon for him to have bruises and/or scars on his face but the reasons are unknown to his peers. Dee's 6' 2" frame is thin but well muscled.

Personality: He seems quite shady at first and even when you know him. Its as if he's always in a defensive state, rather he's dozing off or bright. Dee is not afraid to throw a punch and has done it on multiple occasions. If you manage to get through to him he is a fun person to be around and likes a joke. It takes quite the person to get there, though, and the journey isn't easy. The rest found in RP; he's really hard to explain xP

Backstory: His parents always hated each other, which he later found out was because his mother was forced into "this" by his father. When Dee was 11 his father left their crappy home and didn't come back for months. Then started the horrid torture that the young boy endured for years - and still puts up with. His father stole him on multiple occasions, usually every couple months but sometimes sooner, and brought him to an abandoned warehouse. Going into detail about the stabbing, needles, and restraints will take too long so I'll just leave it at... He's messed up in the head a bit. Anyway, horses were never his thing and he would have never started riding if it wasn't for someone he met who was trying out for a "weird horsey scholarship thing". Here's some copy/paste of things I've written about him before. Ya' know, just to set the "mood".

I felt bad about him being alone and I decided to walk over. "Hey." I greeted as I started walking over. It seemed like he didn't hear me because he stayed in the same position. When I stood next to him I gently tapped his arm to get his attention. To my surprise his arm jumped up as if making a barricade and his head raised. As I stumbled back a step his hood took a quick jump and for a moment I saw his face more clearly. His eyes were a pale green that didn't seem to express much emotion. The swoop of hair covered his left side but when it temporarily moved I noticed bruising around the eye. On his right the hair was short, not matching the swoop. Just as I expected, he had a young face. The hood and hair went back in place and his arm came back down. "Sorry." He mumbled, looking down again. "Don't worry about it." I replied as I gathered myself back. "What happened to your eye?" His shoulders raised a bit in tension and his mouth opened slightly. It was clear that he wasn't wanting to share that story. "Just... A stupid hometown kid." He replied. I had a feeling that wasn't the truth, but I didn't push. I found eye contact and slowly raised my hand toward his hood, wanting to make sure I didn't take him by surprise again. When it came off his face he seemed like he felt exposed. "They definitely have some problems." I spoke quietly as I looked at the bruising. Whoever did that was clearly strong. "Yeah." He said with a quick grin. "What's your name? I'm Hana." I tried to move on the conversation. This guy was clearly alone and didn't have someone to turn to. He hesitated, a doubtful expression across his face. "Er.. Dee." He replied.

Her attitude is just for fun, not because she's a hormonal mare, and she loves to throw huge bucks on a jump course or in the pasture. She'll prance like a stud while leading and do her best to show off to the other horses. Posh is quite the boss mare and refuses to let other horses have more than her.
