Life at Shepherd's End
Littleton is a tiny town in the middle of the USA - Nebraska. Founded when pioneers broke down and struck it rich in a farming valley. Since the beginning days of several families cultivating their land, the town has grown from a dozen people to a couple hundred. Shepherd's End is a small neighborhood off a dirt lane, one of the original pathways between homesteads, and home to some of the founding families. Over the generations, some modifications have taken place as well as new businesses cropped up to create a Town Center. A couple of new blood families have transplanted in, either a generation before or brand new attempting their luck at taking on a homestead. ⇔ What To Know ‣ This RP is set in Modern Times - you may incorporate as much or as little of the 1800s. (homesteads with modern remodeling, or complete rebuilds | Businesses/Jobs established in the 1800s to today | Technology) ‣ This is a Small Town / 'Country-Living' type Roleplay rich in history and farming. ‣ This RP is focused on the families of Shepherd's End - feel free to create a family/background. There is a main small town that can be easily accessed. ‣ There will be a couple of families/people that are newer to the town (will be very limited) ‣ Please create characters in multiple families! Use various ages, extended family, and interesting characters (it's fine if they are more secondary or background people) ‣ Characters know everyone else (and typically all other related people) - the only exception would be someone who has recently transplanted to the town. At this point - I'm not limiting or requiring characters

• Help keep genders even and/or sexual orientation even
• Don't claim a ton of the Founder Families, instead add a character to different families of different relationships/ages/ranks
This is a free-world style - you can create anything! From character last names, jobs, relationships, family members, etc. The more the merrier.

Name: Zelia Anderson Nickname: Ze, Lia, Zel Age: 18 Gender: Female Appearance: 5'1" petite, dirty blond hair, with naturally occurring highlights, mid back length. Bright blue eyes that transition between grey and a tealy blue. She is very strong for her build and always has some sort of tan from all her time outside in the sun. Always can be found wearing her Australian hat. She events a very beautiful Connemara cross pony that was imported in from Ireland. Is very near sighted so if you see her stumbling around and squinting, her contacts either have fallen out due to rubbing her eyes to many times due to the dust, shavings, and other ag irritants or she lost her glasses. Sexual Orientation: Anyone, is attracted to all types, genders, and people who aren't defined by gender conformity. Romantic Interest: Open Occupation: Agricultural farm, from dairy, wool, sheep/pig/chicken meat, eggs, and agricultural products from hay to apples. Also writes some books on ways to convert old method farms into new, economic, and waste limiting. She also is open to teaching the next generations how to farm in both new and old styles. Personality: Bright, happy person, who always is outside and has to be doing something when not working out in the fields, in the dairy barns, coops, or sheep pens. Can be forgetful about where things are, but can be relied on to memories things on short notice. Hard worker who will do anything to help make more money, make the farm more effective, economic, as waste free as possible, and planet friendly. Background: Zelia was born in England but her family moved to New England for her parents work. She started working on the neighbors farm when she was 5, and started eventing very shortly afterwards. When she was 12 her parents imported a Connemara cross straight from Ireland for her birthday. She is the granddaughter of the owner of Shepard's Ends Ag, Dairy, Eggs, and Meat, which sits in Lot 2, one of the largest private lots, right in the center at the end of the lane. The farm is also refered to as the Anderson Farm. He put her in his will as the person who would inherit the farm. Her grandfather is related to the first Anderson who was one of the original settlers. Since her grandfather passed away a couple days ago, it came to her as very much of a surprise that she had inherited the farm. She is very nervous about moving to Shepard's End and to a new town full of people she has never met before. She is also concerned that she is going to make irreversible mistakes at the farm or make changes that she thinks her grandfather would have not approved of. |
