I have a bit of a fun task for us. I've just written another blog. I don't know if you've both caught up yet. Anyway, what could Tristan do with Tredon Mawr next? 3 barns have burnt down. They are in the middle of the stables. He's going to knock there remains down anyway. Does he keep it empty? I don't think so. Does he rebuild the barns? Or do something completely different. I don't have many ideas.

I haven't read today's blog, but otherwise I'm all caought up. I'll have a think about that space, I'm sure he could turn it into something very interesting. It could be a huge arena for shows, jumping or even cross country if it's really big, or a track for racing or training, or a gymkhana course for the horse and pony clubs.... hmmm... there are so many possibilities. ...or how about a dedicated equine museum? Somewhere people can go to learn about the history of the horse and all things equine. You could have a petting farm area and have different breeds of horses on show, perhaps some models of the evolution of the horse.

Those are all good ideas!! Though the area is probably not big enough for all those things. Its right in the middle of the yard which is kind of an awkward place. And I kind of like the idea that whatever it is fits in with everything else that goes on at Tredon Mawr. Just a reminder, at Tredon Mawr so far, we have the riding school, they breed and train horses and break them in. They have the vets, the saddler, farriers and also Holly's magazine. There's the Gwanwyn Moor too. I'm just wandering if there's anything else they can do with the horses? Like another service or something? I'm afraid I'm a bit stuck on this!! Actually thinking about it, I'm trying to imagine the space that the barns have left. It would probably be like a very small courtyard in the middle of the stables. Like half an acre. It would be concreted with nothing there, just an entrance and the backs of all the other barns and sheds. Obviously things can be built there instead or the space can be used for something specific.

Should still be big enough for a small petting area for little kids, perhaps tables and chairs for a picnic area or a cafe for parents to wait at while the olders kids are having their riding lessons.

You could put in a few apple trees for sun-shade that can also offer as treat to the horses. they can also act a s weather sceen / interest in the seasons - smell as well. the kids could go scrumping/ climbing when matured. fallen apples could be snaffled by horses & get colic from eating too many Edited at October 29, 2020 02:04 PM by Follyfoot Farm

Good ideas!! Though I was thinking something more on the business side. A petting farm is a good idea though I want to just stick with horses and with it being a more traditional Stables.

I have been breeding my Havenshire ponies for a few HEE years and now I have too many! I will only be breeding a few of them in November to limit my numbers, so I thought it might be nice to offer the others to Haven County Club members for free brood. I'll put them up for club brood first thing after RO so that they're available for you when you're ready. I hope they produce some nice foals for you.
I will have to move my stallions to avoid sneaky studs, but they are also up for free stud to the club. I'll probably be selling some of them after RO too, I didn't plan to have more than 100! lol
