I like it but haven't been to a show as a competitor before - what prep would I likely need to include ? Just throwing ideas out - gymkhanery or 3 day event in one day or weekend - shortened courses? ? driving competition for accuracy & against clock - have a vet to compete for that Involve Pen Bryn College as a competitor maybe their horsebox has a fault & they delayed/miss it because you couldn't list as winners unless comps are different to d, xc, sj ? Paige Turner can list the results with a bit of blarney with each of my stables giving a separate viewpoint in chatter not in the newspaper. magazine could possibly also do a feature Edited at September 21, 2020 06:20 AM by Follyfoot Farm

Me and Ebol Wen have written about Old Mill Show before. You can find them in my blogs, I'm sure there in a folder there. It will give you the idea. What I meant was, we write about the build up to the show, like how our riders prepare for the show and get excited. Then at the show, things can happen, like a horse spooks, rider falls off... and afterwards, back at home, how things turn out afterwards. Don't worry, I've never been to a show before either, so this is all make believe!! All good ideas though!! We already got a list of classes: Dressage Cross Country Show Jumping In-Hand Rare Breed Carraige Driving Junior Class What we've done before is pick a few of our riders for each class. We ususally have a different show judge each time. And Holly has already written about it in her magazine, but a newspaper would work well too!! Some good ideas though!! I like the idea that Pen Bryn College joins in. Follyfoot Farm said: I like it but haven't been to a show as a competitor before - what prep would I likely need to include ? All great ideas, I like them. 'Roundest bum! LOL! I think I'd win that, horse or no horse! (Or is that biggest bum?!?!)
The Old Mill Show isn' t the only show in Havenshire, (granted it is the only one written about so far lol, but we had plans for small villiage shows and of course a big end of year 'Haven County Show'. Tredon and I also talked about a pony club and a riding club, both of which could also hold regular shows. Also many stables host little shows of their own, so we'll have plenty of oportunity for all of those ideas. :)
I have a very busy week ahead, so if we're holding a show just let me know the classes and I'll pick out some horse and rider combos to enter from my stables if that's ok.

There is no rush as I am good with ideas & research but the writing usually takes a lot of time to percolate the story so defuinitely cant do time sensitive stuff.

I've not done a blog in ages, I've fallen right behind. Thankfully Tredon has kept on going and now you're here too it's really moving along. I must get my act together and find a little time to join in properly.

Tredon Mawr Stables said: That all seems fine to me!! Maybe Tredon could be slightly to the left on the first map. Forgotten the numbers, I think around #2 though!! But it's roughly where it is already so there's not much point changing it!! I like how we've now got 2 Islands. Maybe they could be known as some kind of islands? Like in real life, Channel Islands, Shetland Islands etc. I don't know what they could be though!! I'll be online probably tomorrow so can sort things out properly!!
I've set out rough boundaries for most stables, let me know if you're happy with them.
Tredon, I've put in four possibilites for you so let me know which one you want. I can add a moor and trees or whatever you want later on.
I haven't placed Ebol Wen as I'm happy to move that one.
I meant to label caves at the top of the woods behind Follyfoot, but I forgot. Edited at October 1, 2020 06:29 AM by Ebol Wen Stables

There all good positions!! Number 4 seems a good place. Though can be anywhere if it will fit better with other things!! Could I have a Moor please? I think that will do for now!! Also, should Haven have a town? Ebol Wen Stables said: Tredon Mawr Stables said: That all seems fine to me!! Maybe Tredon could be slightly to the left on the first map. Very true!! It might be fun to do another type of show!! There's also point to points and races and things too!! Don't worry I shan't be ready to write anything this week either!! I doubt we'll be writing it til the end of the month with all the ideas and preparation it takes!! I think it will be fun though!! Ebol Wen Stables said: All great ideas, I like them. 'Roundest bum!
