ive seen dogs who pick up on threats and alert the handler so that the handler is much aware of their surroundings. it is for sure possible. it just requires the right breed, breeder, puppy, training and consistency+dedication in the training.

Unfortunately Gem, I know someone who had somebody tresspass onto their property, set their dogs loose, and when the dogs bit them they reported it and got the dogs euthanized.

@mav

Ah, OK. A weapon just like my fist. ;P And I'd NEVER send a dog on someone unless needed. I'd probably borderline be too late on my response to tell the dog.

Also, if someone tries something and I use the dog, I will report it. Doing so will help my case, and the dumb*ss hopefully will get a fine at most.

@witchy

Yup! Just like having a fast car, easier to wreck and more costly...

before even looking into protection, research breeds.

dutch shepherds, belgian malinois, german shepherds and dobermans are the most common PPDs ive seen.

research the breed based on YOUR personal needs AND lifestyle. these breeds are HIGH DRIVE if theyre bred right and have good pedigrees.

you (in my personal opinion) HAVE TO go through a training company that has a good reputation. they know what they are doing and they have the proper gear for it.

do keep in mind that most programs do use adversive tools. ie prong collars, stim collars, etc. and i know a LOT of people bash those tools

Just an update...
I had a bit of extra time that I didn't know I was going to have. So I've finished those rider blogs. You can find them all in the Tredon Now tab on my blogs. There are 10 posts there.
I have a list of ideas of things that could happen once I start the next part of the story again. I'm going to go through and see if there's anything we can link together on. I have a feeling we'll need some sort of show or competition, or maybe another Old Mill Show. I'll see what I can come up with!!

Another Old Mill Show sounds great. We'll all need to choose our horses and riders!

Hi,
I'm updating Chaddlefield and Ashwell. So there will be some horses for sale. I think on Chaddlefield, I shall keep ISH's. Not sure about Ashwell yet, will sort that account out tomorrow maybe.

I saved the images of the horses onto my computer and edited them in Photoshop. The palomino was a mash up of a few different foals to get what I wanted and then I pasted the image onto the one of the bay and added the wording. It needs to be re-sized to 300 x 300 before uploading as your avatar, and you have to give the proper credits. I left the HEE copyright in the corner and added 'HEE image edited by Harmony'.

From the HEE rules:
Crediting Images All of the images used by members on this site need to be properly credited. This helps protect our members from having their art stolen and used on other sites, as well as protecting this site. There is a sticky in the forum that describes how to properly credit images. It is located Here.

Thanks for the info about the avatar. Am only going to use HEE subjects so copyright won't be a problem. Let see if worked?
it did yay!
