Yes,Local Is much more sustainable! But it's alot for farmers to do - To stay with demand and keep emissions low.Its still got a long way to go till a solution is found really. ^.^

@Graceful It was an example. You can grow some that you aren't allergic to, that's an idea. Or, if you get them from the store, get the loose stuff and bring your own cloth bag.

Eve, I really like the kind of explanations on the bottom of the Horse of the Year LB. I think that would be super helpful on all of them. :D

No, but we can get our meat and others from local farms that do it themselves, instead of ones from factory farms that cause a ton of pollution.

The world can't all go sustainably meat free.Animal populations would dwindle,As well as natural habitats.Growing the food would require more land.More emissions from more food miles.Yes there needs to be balance but it has to be between both.As a farmer I kind of see this every day..

I was literally going to say there are some people that can't do some of these things due to their health. Gotta think real big to figure out this grey area.

Lost money on member show, despite placing? August 22, 2019 05:33 AM

This might be a dumb question, but it's never happened before and seems weird to me.

8/21 I put 3 different horses into 3 different classes in a member show for 500ebs each. 1 horse placed 1st in their class and received 750 ebs. The other horses placed 3rd and 4th, but only won 281 and 211ebs.

Is this normal when there are only a few entries in a show or something?

It just seems odd to lose money, especially when placing 3rd, but I could understand if it's so 1st and 2nd get their payouts.

I just want to know for sure.

Thanks!

You dont win money in member shows if you do not place over half. Ie. 4 hoses entered, 2 win money, 2 lose.

It's a gamble.
