Choosing a photo-editing site First off, you need to choose a photo editing app or website. For this tutorial, I'll be explaining for Photopea, since that is what I currently use. There are many great photo editing websites, each with different "specialties" It seems to me, that for many artists, Adobe PS is the ultimate goal. However, if thats a tad too pricy/confusing (theres a lot of tools in PS!) there are many other options. Some of the options: GIMP Photopea Krita Procreate Pixlr Ibis Paint X Autodesk and many more! |

Getting to know the Website I would suggest becoming aquainted with whatever website you choose. Before trying a manip or lineart, play around with the tools, try a few different things until you feel more comfortable with it. |

Autodesk Sketchbook
Tool bar - On your left there is a large bar drop down that has some options. There is the option to switch and use different tools that are in the tool bar. But if you would like to find another tool that is not in the bar at the moment. You will want to go to is in the top right corner of the tool bar you will find a a long rectangle box and below a few cubes. If you click onto that you will find yourself with a bunch of new options to choose from Tools -
Pencil - Draws
Blur - Blurs the image where placed
Eraser - Erases
Airbrush - Air brushes light details
Marker - Fatter use of pencil Ballpoint pen - Around same as the pencil
Paintbrush - Adds a thicker and stranger form of texture
Felt tip pen - A thinner type of drawing tool
inking pen - A large and see through drawing tool
Smear - Smears the image

Tools Note: Some tools are "hidden", you have to hold the visible to to get a list of other tools Here are some basic tools. Burn Tool: Darkens Dodge Tool: Lightens Spot Healing Tool: Great for tack removal. It highlights over a section, analyzes the image, and then tries to "fix it". You can use it the same as a brush tool Eraser: self explanatory ;P Blur Tool: blurs the pixels Smudge Tool: hidden tool, "drags" the pixels. Great for smoothing out an area Sharpen Tool: hidden tool, sharpens part of the image. Be careful not to go overboard with it. Brush Tool: coloring in. you can change the color at the bottom of the tool panel. Default colors are normally black and red. |
