I've heard Photoshop and GIMP are both great for digital art on HEE. I don't know which one to choose, does GIMP have something that Photoshop doesn't is it vice versa? Any input/ feedback is helpful.

Photoshop has more features and it's pay-to-use. Gimp has many of the same features as PS but it's free.

Which one has more of an advantage?

I personally prefer Photoshop over GIMP. I like the features better and just how it's generally designed/laid out. I don't like the payment feature on Photoshop, so I bought Affinity Photo which is a one time purchase (about $50 if I remember correctly). It's extremely similar to Photoshop and works excellent. Plus, many popular tutorials are based around Photoshop. It's insanely easy to apply these tutorials to Affinity Photo. :)

I'd personally suggest Photoshop over GIMP. Like said above, it has more features, and the way the program works is a bit nicer.

I started off with GIMP, but over the years I have moved completely to PS. The tools work a lot better. Just smudging out something or adding colours, in GIMP becomes pixelated while in PS doesn't. PS is just another level in general xD
