Work on shading the horse to match the lighting in the background, and add a shadow under the horse. I'd also recommend working the outline of markings to make them seem like hairs are crossing over the outline, it'll help them seem like part of the coat. |

The dA credits look ok, but if you try to search your unsplash credit it doesn't exist. You must include their account name (not their actual name if they're different) and any dashes.
Edit: His account name is vwalletphoto @ unsplash. When I was doing art, I would credit an unsplash as account name @ unsplash, or unsplash. com/accountname. So in this case <font class="mainlineblack">vwalletphoto@unsplash.

As for art critique, great work! Especially for a first manip. I agree with what White Crown said.
You have a very strong light source behind and slightly above the horse to the right, so light will hit the horse differently on certain parts of the body than others. That light won't be able to travel arround the barrel/other parts of the horse so a lot of what is facing us will be darker than the topline of the horse. You may also need more of an "outline" of light around legs/wisps of hair/muzzle/etc. Your hair looks great :) One thing I could say is to define the ends a little bit more to combat the fade that comes with smudge/tool-pulling hair. And of course lighting depending on the source.

This is really great for your first manipulation! That being said I agree with the comments before as the horse could use some more contrast to really help it pop. As well as possibly blurring the backgound. Not sure if this can be done but possibly softening the marking lines of the black (unless this is the effect you are going for then great job!)
You hair is really good as well!
