With lighting I use add multiply and soft light blending layers, clipping layers are soooo handy!! To start off by matching colours I'll make a blank clipping layer, use an airbrush on 100% opacitt or the fade brush on 80 ish% opacitt to grab a load of bg colours, alter the colours if needed and just draw over the horse with colours that would be on the horse So let's say the horse is in a forest, you'd get some brown layers where the light isn't hitting, some green and depending on what the light is some yellow/cream/white where thee light hits Put this layer on soft light and alter opacity as needed, duplicate layer if needed as well Then to do shadows grab a dark green or brown if in a forest and pain over on a new multiply layer where the light doesn't hit and blur it slightly if needed, then alter opacitt of that multiply layer Does this help for lighting?
