| I love training! It' so cool working with different animals. Figuring out what personality and attitude they have - and what the best way to work with them is. Finding what is their reward system. Laying out the training plan - what behaviors are wanted/not wanted. Those behaviors sound like you have to make it boring - do the same thing over and over and over again until the animal finds it boring. Find a different reaction to reward as well. Like if it's a doorbell or someone coming to the door. Have someone spend 20 minutes knocking at the door while you reward behaviors you want and ignoring/correcting (depending on the training system) the unwanted behaviors. Knowing the work duration of the animal is crucial - and giving them outlets to have fun/get energy out beforehand |
