so ive recently been getting into these pat portrait things. each one takes me 2-6 hours normally. what i do is make a super rough painting over the original image, then blend and color-mix and smudge and all that shit. im currently charging around 25k for these, is that fair? should i lower/raise it?

Since you're leaving a lot of the original photo showing somewhere between 25-35k seems appropriate. From what I can see it really doesn't look like you've done anything aside from put the pet on a black background and blur parts of the face.

I find that painting without using the smudge tool gets a more realistic feel if you're up for the challenge 😄

Either edit the photograph using standard techniques and without the smudging or learn how to digital paint. I followed a lot of Vizseryn's videos on YT. You can find tutorials for just about anything depending on the software you are using.
