Hello!
I have wanted to start an art shop for a while now, but i am a little stumped on a few things:
- White markings, and making them blend into the horse's coat if that makes sense - no matter how hard I try they always look...drawn on, I guess XD
- The sizes of different elements in this game - eg stable avi, banner etc
- recoloring a horse's coat - how do you guys do that??
Art gurus, help me!!
Unfortunatley, I don't have any examples to show right now :P but when I find them, I'll try to remember to pop them on here :D
Thanks! <3

Look up Horse Manipulation tutorial on youtube! You will find a girl named Amanda, she's apart of HEE and has some great information including markings and color changes!!

Markings are tough, there's a lot of methods, including grey scale as well as exposure. Just make sure you use a small brush for the outline and no straight lines!
Stable Avi: 300x300 Banner: 150x669 Horse Avi : 500x500 Bio: can be anything, usually just the size of your canvas Palette Headers: 858xanything!
It's easiest to grayscale the horse than overlay your color and adjust as necessary.

How are you drawing on markings? I prefer to duplicate the horse base and play with levels/curves, brightness/saturation to get a white colour that looks natural on the horse, and then mask out the markings I want. I recommend experimenting with blending the edges of the mask with textured brushes until you find something you're happy with, to make it look like it's part of the coat and not have super-defined edges :)

For colour changes, I'd recommend starting with solid-coloured horse stock, like chestnuts with minimal markings as they're pretty much a blank canvas and you won't have to go through the effort of removing black points in bays for example until you gain more experience. As HMH says, greyscaling the horse can be helpful, I don't always do this though, sometimes I just fiddle with colour overlays/levels/hue and layer blend modes until it looks right. Through trial and error, you will figure it out :)

I also recommend watching Amanda's videos!
