I am looking for some advice and critique. For the time being I am only looking for advice and critique with the piece below. You can be as harsh as you want, especially since criticism is what makes you better as long as it is constructive.

The piece below is finished (credits will be made into actual text later). I am aware the neck and front legs look a little wonky with the shading I did, but I would love advice with this one. Truth be told, I think this is my best one yet and, potentially, I would like some tier help with this.

Image is clickable for more details and thank you in advance! :D

This main post will constantly be edited with pieces being put here, so try not to quote it, thank you lots! <3

So, where do I start... Let's start with the obvious - your anatomy is way off. It's not to demand the perfect knowledge, mistakes are acceptable, but you better start from researching how to use simple forms, like ovals and rectangles, to construct the horse's body. I won't go into much detail, Deviantart has a gazillion tutorials, you can train your eye on any reference image you like, draw simple shapes over horse's photos. Anatomy is important since you're drawing from scratch, and it isn't particularly hard to get down, just tedious and requires time and practice.
Details will come to you naturally when you will somewhat understand which muscle group is where, without even beginner knowledge on anatomy any shading will fail, same with highlights. Use your references.
Mane and tail, again, show that you're drawing without reference, plus not using your pressure control of your tablet (you do have a tablet?). Dedicate some time to understand how you can use pressure sensitivity to your advantage.
Will write more later and provide links

Here is some of my first thoughts and advice

Body Prep

- The horse is very overly smudged, I would suggest using a brush that is more soft. Make the opacity of the brush lower so it's not as harsh. Work in small areas and go the same way the hair does. Make sure you don't overly smudge.

- Before you smudge, on an empty layer you can do the shading. Using a black shade, go over small areas (like around the jaw, to define it for example). Then, on a new layer, you can highlight with white. On two more seperate layers, you can do the shadows.

Hair

- I do think the hair looks good! With a thin brush and a small size, add some fly away hairs to give it that "realestic" look and feel.

Grounding

- Using a small brush with low opacity, earase some sections on the bottom of the hooves to make it look like the "mossy grass" is coming over the horses hooves.

This was based off a rough look!
Don't beat yourself up and good on you for wanting to improve! I see faults in my art too and even in T1 artists art, nobody is perfect <3

Hello there again!
I'm coming back with the link! I cheated a bit and researched what other people managed to collect, and this one caught my eye.
Don't mind this artist's words on tracing, pay attention to the second pic from the top, you should spend some time tracing over any horse pic you like, noting important anatomy points, like here. Borrowed another tut to show what I mean. You can sketch without paying attention to close detail, since you're training your eye to see important points. Details are nice, but secondary.

New piece has been put up, :)

I would love any and all help/critique. Maybe some tier advice as well; I think I am Tier 3 right now, but would like some more input, <3
