Hello everyone! I am super excited to announce that I am onto my second year of college (well technically 4th)! YAY!! It has been such an awesome journey and has taught me alot. I will be graduating with my Associates in Biology (DTA) so I will be transferring to a 4 year university at the end of this academic year. My end goal is to be a surgeon so I have about 6 more years to go! I am super fortunate that I am very involved in the community. I serve as president of my college and am historian of my chapter of the honors society Phi Theta Kappa. This has allowed me to recieve offers from Universities all over the United States without even applying. I am going to go ahead and say it - if you are a college student and attend a community college, get involved with Phi Theta Kappa because the more distinguished you are as a PTK member, the more benifits you recieve. ANYWAYS I figured that since I do not really like the universities I have recieved offers from (most of them are in Flordia and I dont have a real desire to go to Flordia based on what I have heard and my experiences), I would post my progress and adventure to my 4 year here. I am currently applying to 4 year Universities that I would like to go to and just for fun I am going to apply to Harvard, Yale, Oxford and Duke. I figure that if I am applying to University, I want to apply to them all just to see if I get in and what other offers I recieve. I guess it all depends on how much time I have left once I write my essays. I am fortunate enough to recieve essay assistance from one of my professors who has 3 PhDs and is going for a fourth. She is actually a professor at several Universities across the world and to be totally honest, I don't know how she has time for anything. She admitted that sleep is not really something that exists in her life XD. With that being said, she has taught me some excellent ways for writing essays so if you ever need help, please let me know and I can pass on what I know to you! Writing college essays is difficult and its so important to start early :) A side note, I want to thank you all for your support through all of these processes. Since I have joined HEE, I have felt such an amazing sense of community and belonging while recieving help, advice and support from all of you. Edited at March 15, 2023 10:37 PM by Daranyx

I finished my university essay for my top pick! I'm super excited about it! Took me a week and a half! I'm getting it reviewed by my Philosophy professor since she was more than happy to help me and then I'll submit! My word limit was 650 words and I was honestly so upset about it because I always go over the word limit by a few hundred. So cutting down on it once it was all written up was such a challenge!

Hey! So it's been a little while and I figured I'd put an update here! My essay has been finished and approved by my professor who helped me correct a couple of small errors. So my essay is good to be submitted! I am a bit confused about the application process though. For the university I I applying to, I have to mail them my grades. And I mean I have to actually mail them. And I am not sure how to access my transcripts and am concerned they won't make it there at all. And then it says if I'm accepted my final grades have to be sent by my admissions office to theirs. Which is sort of odd... but I'll figure it out. Anyways, my professor that was helping me is so supportive. She even said she would help me when I apply to grad school and I'm so thankful

Schools love having you jump through some serious hoops to apply. It's a little ridiculous. Good luck!
