Most piggies live 7 to 10 years in my experience. I had one years ago live to be 12. As long as they are taken care of and get their daily vitimen C they can live long happy lives.

Wow! 12!!!! That's amazing!!! 😍 and I do have a question, daily vit C, that can be given by feeding hay, grain and veggies right? because that's what I do because I heard buying the vit C drops are not good for them. Yes a good source of vit C is good hay, good pellets with it added to the pellet, and fresh veggies. My piggies get pellets and hay daily, and bell pepper and other fresh veggies and greens daily. They mostly get green bell pepper, zucchini, romaine lettuce along with red leaf lettuces, kale, parsley, cilantro, carrots, apples, strawberry, blueberry, blackberry, and other treats. However some you can only give to them about once a month due to sugar content or high calcium content. You can go on line and find sites that will tell you how often certian things can be given to them daily, weekly, or monthly lol. And the thing to remember with bell pepper, give them the green type the most. Red, Yellow, and Orange bell peppers are the more mature varity and have more sugar content to them. (I keep hopping accounts lol this is Azalea's MA) That's a long time! Mine were given vegetables twice a day and lots of hay and pellets. I think it just depends on the guinea pig. Edited at January 10, 2022 07:41 PM by DaisyMeadowEventing

I had no idea piggies could have red leaf lettuces, kale, parsley, cilantro, or blackberries. I may have to see if my piggies will like these things! Both mine are crazy about green bell peppers! They squeak and yell when they hear my chopping up veggies, haha! Hawkeye Farms said: Yes a good source of vit C is good hay, good pellets with it added to the pellet, and fresh veggies.
