Yes, Douwe was put down.
He broke his shoulder some how one morning on the bitchÂ’s farm after she took him away. She wouldnÂ’t let the vet euthanize him until late the following day, because she *could not bear to see his body lying there* and said the backhoe could not come to bury him until the next night

I think there are about 200 MFT total in Europe.

Cuvee is 28yo not had some bad laminitis 2020 and I had to decide of either send her to heaven or to another barn with a small herd, full service regarding meds, blankets, lot of special nutritive management and a loving care.
Now, 4 years later she is back as a riding horse for the 12yo daughter of the barn owner and they both love it!

I still cry when I think of Douwe.
He was SUCH a kind and gentle soul, even for a breeding stallion, and so talented! He did not deserve that torture.
He and Buckeye were both agreed they would live their lives out with us, and she went back on her word.
Wish I had seen her true colors even a little earlierÂ…but she had her employer fooled for over 20 years as well. They treated her like family while she stole millions from them!

FSF, Good! Karma is a bitch and she deserves it honestly. She did it to herself and those poor animals suffered because of her. I hope she stays there too. But I'm so glad those horses are going to be okay now at least. What happened to poor Douwe is so sad though.

That woman has NOTHING now.
9 days after we got Buckeye out of there, she was indicted for embezzlement, and has since lost her horses, farms, vehicles, home, everything.
Her sentencing should be within the next couple of months, hope she goes to prison for the rest of her life , which may not be that long given her health.
She had many many people fooled for a long time, given her embezzlement
