West turned and looked back at the colt and filly playing in the lake. He smiled, walking back down. -that race was very fun... Phantom is a nice mare- he thought, shaking his pelt And standing in the grass. Inside the valley there was no snow... it was just cold. West shivered slightly, shaking his mane.

Phantom stood underneath a tree the wind blowing lightly making her tail and mane swing gently. She'd step out from the tree's coverage a bit wanting to get the cold breeze more. Phantom enjoyed the cold it was better than the hot beaming sun. She stood in silence enjoying the wind

The stallion closed his eyes. He smelled the far off scent of another stallion again... but he was sure it was nothing. Then a new scent hit him. Cougar. Fresh.. strong... male... West pawed the ground and pricked his ears, trying to detect where it came from. It must've sneaked up downwind of him so he couldn't smell it... he gasped and whirled. The cougar leaped out of the grass, its claws ready to go for his throat... but West had turned just in time it slammed into his side, raking its claws down him. He staggered, even a big horse like him almost falling. The cougar was a giant male... obviously hungry to attack a stallion, even if the stallion was alone. West was angered at this... but decided to have a little fun. He was boredish.... anyway. He reared, letting out a below and crashing down with his hooves an inch away from where the cougars head lay. The cougar screeched, jumping up and prowling around him, snarling. West faced it at all time, snorting. For some reason though... he had a small smile on his face. He was distracted for a moment when he heard a faint splash... and then the cougar jumped. It landed on his back, raking its claws down his side and biting his back, trying to sever his spinal cord. West trumpeted in pain and anger, getting ready for the big finale. He suddenly threw himself to the ground, almost squishing the cougar. The cougar let out an agonized yelp. He stood back up quickly, rearing one last time and bringing his hooves down upon the cougar. That was the end of the cougar.

Phantom snorted loudly when her peace was disturb by the sound of a cougar. She looked over seeing it was already attacking West. She wanted to go help but knew that she wasn't going to be much help. For a minute Phantom watched with panic in her eyes while her ears and tail flicked wildly. She turned hearing a splash to see the foals -Oh no the foals!- She took off galloping towards the foals wanting to make sure they wouldn't head in that direction but to also block their view of the cougar if they hadn't seen it yet. Once Phantom blocked the foals view she turned watching West he was right he had all the brawn. Her paniced eyes turned into a gaze of amazment as West took the final blow to the cougar Edited at April 15, 2023 07:45 PM by The Ghost Barn

Aurora splashed around in the water then looked up hearing the sound of hooves. He saw Phantom storming at him and Moon asking "What are you doing?" the tall mare didn't reply to him but seemed to be blocking his view from something, Aurora wanted to push past her but it wasn't his place to see what was going on so he continued to play in the water

Dixie trotted around the large field a sshe watched the events around her: the races, the mares fawning over West, and the cougar. when West had ended the cougar, she grabbed some healing leaves and walked to him, placing the leaves on his wounds and walking away without a word. she trotted down the hill, her tail blowing in the wind. the stopped under a tree, the sun peircing through the leaves and leaving dappled sunsopts on her bay appaloosa coat. she snorted and tossed her mane, dropping her head to nibble the grass beneath her hooves. she didnt understand why the mares were so into West. in her old herd, she was the most saught after mare there. stallions were talkikg to her every five minutes to the point where she believed every stallion was the same: annoying, selfish little brats. she had been the only mare left in the herd after another herd attacked hers, leaving them dead or wounded. she had limped here and West was kind enough to let her in. she still didnt let that change her view of stallions. she looked up at a bird as it crossed the sky. she shook her head and eyed a flower. she picked it, moved to Aurora, placed it in her mane and turned, trotting away. "what a boring, lonely day" she thought as she laid down under her tree. she folded her legs beneath her, watching everyone. she stayed upright, her nostrils taking in the fresh breeze.

(Aurora is a colt btw :] ) Phantom went to go see if West was all right when she saw another mare trotting up to him, this mare had a beautiful appaloosa coat. She didn't get mad at the mare for going up to West afterall she wasn't stallion crazy but happy that another horse cared. After the other mare left she went cantering up to him "Well that was very brave of you mr. slow" She'd smile teasing but her smile had a hint of worry Edited at April 15, 2023 09:50 PM by The Ghost Barn

Aurora looked at the flower that a mare had placed in his mane. it was a pretty flower. He admired it in the reflection of the water then looked up at the mare getting an idea, he took of to the otherside of the valley picking up a Iris. Aurora took off cantering back to the mare and dropped it in front of her. He pranced off before she could say anything to him

Dixie stared at it. she looked at the colt and snorted. "wasnt that the flower i gave him?" she thought as she picked it up in her muzzle. she pawed at a small hole in the dirt and laced it, stem down, in the hole; the flawer petals sitting peacefully above the others. she walked away and snorted at a fly that was pestering her. she flicked her tail, showing a scarok her hindquarters. she didnt notice it but when she did, she nipped at the bug and hid the scar with her black tail. she did NOT want to remember those times

Aurora watched Dixie plant the flower back he looked disappointed, he couldn't hear what she said but he thought that she didn't like the flower. His disappointment didn't last long as he trotted away to the edge of the valley picking up a scent. He flicked his tail wildly trying to figure out what the smell was when he saw a herd of deer emerge from the tree lines. Aurora's eyes lite up with awe as he watched them
