Wow :o That is crazy. We don't have nearly as many missing dogs here, but the numbers could always go up :/

People dump dogs here. We are off a highway and we can't stand seeing these scared and skinny pups. Thankfully we typically catch them and they go to a rescue. It is crazy.
Oh my gosh, thats insane. Poor dogs :( We live about 3 miles from the Mexican border, and there are some desperate people around, and not a lot of law enforcement. Plus, everyone wants a flashy dog, and dosent care where or how they get one. Its quite sad.

There was this black lab running around my neighboorhood a few months ago and I tried to catch him and couldn't get near him. I hope he found his way back home...

Camera's camera's everywhere. An idiot stole a mini poodle out of his yard and tried to return him for the reward money. The worst part is they couldn't even take care of the dog for a week - the pup was returned with a broken leg.

He sounds like a gorgeous dog :) . Lucky is a husky, he was being trained in attack/kill before we got him (but that goes against 10k+ years of the evolution of huskies. They need to get along and be friendly, and integrate). Lucky and I have quite the bond, in April of 2020, he saved me from a pitbull that was going to kill me (lunged in front of me and pinned the dog on the ground). Since then, he's been more protective, but hes definitely not an attack dog. Most of the local creeps steer clear of Lucky since he's growled at them/theyve seen him lunge. But theres all these new people, which freaks me out. They all smell like drugs, and people do crazy shit when they arent thinking straight.
