When I consider myself used to be a color breeder, it wasnt that intense haha. I only had WBs, and it was like sabino, rabicano, splash, tob, and frame on like cremellos, perlinos, with roan and dun etc lol

How tall is your horse? Just curious! Mine is 15.3, I'm 5'3 so theres a climb for me 😂

He's 18.2 😅

You're totally too big for your "poor" horse. lol your horse is huge! I couldn't imagine getting on a horse that big (I'm 4"9 and can't even get on a welsh pony without a block)!

I've been attacked for a lot...
- Using a stud/lip chain (I worked with racehorses)
- "Trotting too fast" I was asking the horse to canter and the horse was cold to my leg
- Riding without a crop
- Riding with a crop
- Kicking a horse (I used to ride this horse and the SMALLEST amount of leg pressure set him off and my trainer yelled at me for "kicking" him. I never kicked him, if I so much as moved my heel an inch he'd go)
- Not kicking a horse (Same horse and same trainer as above only this time the horse was cold to my leg and the trainer yelled at me for not kicking him..)
- Not cleaning buckets fast enough (I was ONE person and had to clean 60 water AND 26 feed buckets by myself...)
- Not giving someone's horse warm water on a cold day... (Yeah, this happened...)
- Helping someone
- Then attacked for not helping them...
- I got attacked by a trainer for not filling the water buckets enough (I wasn't even at the barn that day and I can't do something when I'm not there...)
- Not cleaning a horse's stall... (I literally got to the barn 5 minutes ago and hadn't started on stalls yet...)
This all happened at the same barn. I have since left and been at other barns where I've had more bad experiences... Needless to say I'm done with public barns

My husband is 6'2 and 200lbs and he rides a 14.3hh well built gelding. Has ridden a 14hh arab before too. I'm 290lbs and 5'7 and I've ridden horses before. 170lbs is nothing.

You'd think with equestrianism being a full time thing people wouldn't have the time to worry about what others do.

Geeze, I've never been attacked for anything yet, my riding teacher is very nice, but seriously, everyone has different ways of riding, some horses like certain things, others don't, some people like certain things, others don't, but seriously, getting attacked for your height or telling of a horse when they snap at you? Come on! I would tell off a horse if he snapped at me, and horses are very strong animals, they can take well over a hundred pounds unless they are way out of shape, in which if that happened, I highly recommend you don't own a horse, unless of course they aren't a breed meant for such things, but any horse should be able to take at least 100 pounds.

@Musashi - this is my husband who is 6'2 & 190-200lbs on his 14.3hh horse, he has no trouble what so ever. Heavier riders should be more focused on the conformation and build of their horse instead of height, usually the taller the horse the longer the back and longer the cannons which actually works against a horse in the weight carrying department (not that 170 is heavy, most riders who show hacks where I come from are around that or more).

I ride dressage and eventing. I lease a 14hh pony gelding who I got when he was broke to walk and trot, with a little bit of cantering and jumping. He didn't have a canter transition cue or anything. Last fall was our one year anniversary.

Last fall I got attacked for:
My horse not having a second level dressage headset. (I had never even taken him training level)
Not having a "real" trainer. (So I guess my trainer with a college degree in equestrian teaching and my USDF silver medalist trainer don't count)
Riding bareback and jumping. (Apparently my trainers aren't competent enough to see that I have no ability even at the trot with a saddle)
Not going back to my first hunter barn (I left because I hated the place)
Not having contact over fences (at this point we were still working on having a steady contact on the flat and my horse would freak out if I had contact over fences)

These were all from people at the same barn (my first barn). The barn they told me I would become better at if I went back.

Wow, didnÂ’t know we had so may horse experts in one place.

IÂ’m English so English riding is my life and I donÂ’t see how itÂ’s any more cruel than throwing horses round a barrel or making it chase after dangerous cattle (not that IÂ’m against either as they can be alright when done correctly)

I also must insist that you apologise for not having s spare £300 lying around to pay for a custom for saddle for someone elseÂ’s horse XD

My horses absolutely LOVE cattle work LOL

So does mine, she starts getting all full of herself as soon as she enters the arena and her ears don't move from their forward position once xD
