Mari gave a bit of a hum when he said he felt better... still a bit off, but better. "Good," she whispered before stretching a little bit. "Are you okay with me going, then? Will you be alright?" She asked quietly before slowly opening her eyes and looking back up at him. She still felt her heart flutter when she looked at the boy... every time. It made her feel like a love-sick teen, but it wasn't something she hated. He looked like he'd lost years while he slept, which was something she found so adorable... moments like this were something she found herself never wanting to lose.

Sage hummed lightly and nodded. "yeah ...go work, I don't mind," he hummed. "I have to force myself to get outta bed or I never will," he groaned. "I'll probably go down to the barns. I have to start that job at some point anyway," he pointed out. But for now, he was more than happy to just lay here and nothing but cuddle up in the warm bed with Mari. That was perfect for now. And he definitely didn't want to get up.

Mari gave an almost doubtful look for a moment and then sighed. "Alright," she hummed before shifting a little bit to get comfortable. She sat there for another ten minutes before groaning and forcing herself to peel away from him, then went to quickly get changed before wandering back over to peck the boys cheek. "Good luck down the barns," she hummed softly, "I'll see you in a bit," she then added before tiredly padding off towards the queen's quarters. The woman was still asleep... well, it was early, so that made sense. It just meant she could get everything ready earlier and get back to relax a bit. She got an outfit out for the woman, and then just went about her day cleaning up the way she normally did.

Sage sighed when the girl got up and nodded with a yawn, laying around for a while longer before forcing himself up. He really didn't want to get up...he still felt rather foggy and drowsy....but he hoped going out to the barn would help his head clear a bit. He certainly felt much better, but he was also still definitely in a sort of slump, if you will, and by no means was he back to his usual self. He sort of trudged along to the barns slowly, and rather then playing in the tall grass, Amber stuck right next to him, looking up at him the entire way as if she didn't trust him to look after himself. Maybe the cat was smarter than he gave her credit for sometimes. Or maybe she could just tell something was still off, in the way all animals can.

Mari finished her work fairly early... once the queen was up, she had to sort her hair out but that was about it. She just wanted to be out of there before the king woke up any more. He wasn't particularly nice to be around... not at all, she didn't trust him. Still, once she was all finished she wandered down to the ward to help the doctor out a little bit... she needed some pain meds anyway, so she could chat with him for a while and see what needed doing... though, she just needed up babysitting Att because Anya had dropped the child off a while back... she briefly wandered if she should take him to see Sage while he was working. He might like that.

Sage felt a soft smile rise on his face once he got into the barn. The way there had been hard and rather rough, but he supposed it was all worth it once the horses all greeted him and he could smell the hay and grain and musty horse scent. It was all just very peaceful...and he did like it. He stood there for a minute, just taking it all in, before wandering off to start measuring out feed for each animal. Amber had run off to catch mice again, as per usual, but she stayed closer than normal. He was glad she could go have some fun though, even if he was being a bit of a party pooper.

Mari stayed around the ward, keeping a bit of an eye on Att as she helped the doctor... she eventually decided to go and make some pancakes for the boy, and to bring them out to Sage... it was about midday now, and she wasn't overly sure he would be eating. The kitchen became a bit of a mess... so did Att, actually. He had flour in his dark hair, which made him look a bit crazy, and she had flour everywhere too... but the pancakes turned out alright. She handed him two plates and told him to run along to the barn to find Sage... they could all eat together, if he felt like it. She eventually got to the barn just after Att and grinned to Sage, gesturing to the plate the younger child was holding. "Are you free right now?"

Sage had been rather surprised when the younger boy came running into the barn with plates full of pancakes, though when he saw Mari slide in after him he hummed lightly and nodded. "I'm pretty much done in here," he informed them, taking his plate upon Att's insistence. He still wasn't very hungry, but he managed to choke down a pancake. That was mostly because he knew Mari wanted him to eat, and because Att was proud of his pancakes. He gave Att the second one from his plate, since the boy was practically begging for another one anyway. His head did feel a bit better after eating a bit, though his stomach still just didn't feel great. Well, he didn't feel great. But he supposed he did have to eat at some point, so this was good for him even if he had to choke it all down. Besides, it was Mari's cooking, so it could be worse.

Mari nodded gently to the boy, smiling at Att as he handed the plate full of food over to him. "We need to get him back to the ward - the doctor was meant to be watching him," she mused lightly to Sage. The weather was warming up now... so they could stay out here a little bit longer, and she did like little Atticus, so they could wait out here a little bit longer before dropping the child off again. "I was thinking we go out into the village tomorrow... I want to brows baby shops!" She chirped lightly. They didn't have to get anything... she just wanted to have a look around and see what she liked... it was just exciting. Edited at March 22, 2023 09:18 AM by Belle

Sage chuckled lightly and nodded. "I had a feeling the doctor would shrug him off onto you once you finished working," he hummed in a rather fond manner. He nodded and gave the girl a grin when she mentioned browsing baby shops. "That's fine with me," he chirped. "are you working tomorrow?" The question was just because he was wondering if they'd leave right away or right after he'd worked down at the barn. It would determine how late he slept in...and honestly, sleeping in late was pretty nice, so he was hoping to do that anyway.
