Sage chuckled lightly and wrapped his arms around the girl when she leaned into him. He was more than happy to lay around, he really was. They'd gotten out, and whatnot, so laying about would be nice he supposed. He slid the shirt with pins in it off and put on his regular one before going back to wrap his arms around the girl again. "I think laying about before the baby gets here would be fine," he hummed lightly. "Go ahead and sleep," he chirped. "Goodness knows we won't get enough of it once the baby comes," he chuckled.

Mari smiled softly when the boy wrapped his arms around her, and melted into his arms. "Thank you," she murmured quietly before gently falling onto the bed... she was so tired... she had a feeling they wouldn't have very long until this baby got here, and it was a little bit scary... so she just needed to sleep to get rid of her worries. She tugged him down with her, cuddling in close to him before letting out a deflating sigh as she waited for sleep to take over her... which didn't exactly take very long. As always, her hands were under his shirt and the small dip in her nose was placed in his collar.

Sage hummed lightly in response to the girls thanks, and chuckled slightly when she tugged him down with her. He wrapped himself around her as best he could, given her larger than normal belly, and once she fell asleep, he found himself fingering her hair absentmindedly, just glad to relax with her for a bit. She was pretty while she was asleep ....well, she was pretty all the time, but she looked so happy and peaceful. He let out a quiet huff of air and closed his eyes, sort of drifting in and out of sleep. He wasn't really in need of sleep, since the medicine knocked him out all night long well, but the rest and cuddles were definitely appreciated. Though, he had to admit, once her stomach wasn't so big, he'd be able to cuddle up better, thankfully.

Mari slept fairly well for most of the night... well, until about three o'clock in the morning, when she felt her abdomen tightening harshly, nearly to the point it hurt. Her back was hurting awfully, and she overwhelming sickness and heat that washed over her was hard to withstand. She sat up for a moment, peeling herself away from the boy and putting her feet up for a few moments, the pain slowly subsiding. She let out a heavy breath, and tried to get herself comfortable once more... though, about ten minutes later, the pain came back again, slightly more painful this time. She was used to this... mild pain, but this was really painful. She groaned and sat up once more, gently tapping Sage on the shoulder... the tightness in her abdomen was getting more and more, and when she placed her hand on it, she could feel the movement, which freaked her out even more. She patted Sage again to wake him up, feeling her breaths getting a little bit more... frantic. When he didn't wake up, she squeaked his name to wake him up, all the while trying to get herself more comfortable... the tightness was getting more frequent, which could only really mean one thing.

Sage had fallen asleep next to the girl earlier, closer to maybe ten o'clock or so when he was actually tired, so he hadn't taken the medicine. Which meant he woke up when he felt Mari practically whacking him. He sort of groaned and hummed "what," before he sort of woke up a bit more and raised his head to look at the girl groggily when she squeaked his name. Though, when he noticed her expression, he was pretty much wide awake right away. "You...are you alright," he sort of sputtered out, though of course she wasn't...she was obviously hurting and scared. He assumed the baby was trying to come, and it was right on time too, but that meant they needed to get to the doctor's ward sooner rather than later. "Can you walk? Or would you rather I carry you to the doctor's," he asked, getting up and crawling off the bed, reaching out to the girl. His heart was racing and his head was spinning....in truth, he was just as terrified as Mari, just for a slightly different reason. But the doctor would help....and that was all he could think of to do right then. Get to the doctor, and let him take over. Hed know what to do.

All the girl could do was shake her head at him... she was already hurting, badly, and she knew this wasn't even the wort of it... that thought simply terrified her. But the doctor had said to wait until they were about four minutes apart... to eat and drink until then, and to move about to ease the pain. She grabbed onto his hand, taking a soft breath as the pain slowly started to subside. She forced herself to her feet, slightly hunched over and a hand under her stomach as though she was trying to hold herself up. "I-" she paused as she winced, taking in shallow breaths, and once again the pain melted away. "Can you get me some water," she whispered, almost scared that she'd trigger something by speaking. "And some fruit or... something," she rasped quietly. The doctor had gone over all of this with her, but it was slightly harder now that she was actually going through it... and freaking out about it, too... Sage wasn't exactly calm either. She could walk to the ward... but sooner rather than later, considering how quickly the movements were coming and going so soon. She should have gone over everything with Sage, too... maybe this would be less scary for the two of them.

Sage nodded in response to the girls question and wrapped an arm around her to hold her up. She really was hunched over, and she was definitely leaning on him. "Yes, but I'll drop you off at the doctor ward first," he told her, pressing a quick kiss to her temple before helping her along slowly. "I don't want to leave you somewhere alone," he explained. It took a while to get to the ward, but he'd expected that...Mari was practically doubled over and no doubt was hurting pretty badly. Though, the doctor was meeting them almost right away. Sage wasn't sure where he'd come from, but they'd woken him up ..he was still in his night clothes. He seemed prepared though, and once Sage had set Mari down on a cot enough for her to lean against the headboard, the doctor handed her a plate with some fruit and crackers and a glass of water. Sage trusted the doctor, but he was scared too ...so he sort of just hovered over Mari protectively while the doctor did what he needed to do.

Mari nodded and thanked the boy the best she could without screaming out in pain. She'd put her legs up when they'd gotten to the ward, after the doctor had explained it should help ease the pain a little out... but it didn't exactly do very much. Her heavy breaths just got heavier, and tears of frustration and pain rolled down her face... barely anything bad happened yet, and she eas already in such a state. She didn't know how she'd react later on, and she had to admit she was almost scaring herself now. She tilted her head back against the head board once the pain had eased up, and closed her eyes, almost catching herself asleep for about five minutes before pain quite suddenly started up again. Her head was banging and she was already sweating... she felt awful. She tried to eat a little something, to try and relax a bit, but it didn't work... and the water wasn't exactly doing much other than cooling her down slightly. The doctor said that they'd probably have about another twenty or so minutes of this until they could do anything... the chances were that she'd just slept through the earlier contractions, so they'd already lost an hour or so of would have been agony.

Sage was, admittedly, rather at a loss of what to do. The doctor had given Mari instructions to hopefully ease the pain a bit, though she was still quite obviously in a lot of pain. And really, there was nothing he could do to help her. Eventually, the doctor gave the girl a shot of something, to ease the pain a bit more and hopefully calm her down enough to take a deep breath before the baby actually started to try and come out of the girl. He was ready, and they'd been expecting this for days, but it was definitely a rush once it all started happening. They were still young...and it was their first child, so he knew they'd both be a bit of a mess. Sage was clinging onto Mari's hand just as much as she was clinging to him. Sage had sat down in a chair next to the bed at some point, though he had too much nervous energy so he was sort of just shifting around constantly, wincing every time the girl cried out or a tear ran down her face or she winced or...well, he just felt really bad about it all, and wished he could do something.

The few moments where the girl seemed to be nearly asleep seemed to be pure bliss... every sound seemed to drain, and then she seemed to come right back again, worse than the time before. The man had given her a shot, though she'd barely felt it, and the pain had eased... but it was still very much there all the same. Things went on like this for a while, and her whole body was already shaking. Her cries had gotten louder, and her tears heavier... her grip on Sages hand had just gotten harder, gripping onto him every time something got a tiny bit more painful. But soon enough, things got even worse, once the baby had decided it was ready. About seven hours of relentless tears went past, but eventually, Mari could hear screaming... it was faint, and fading fast, and she could only really hear a little bit of what was going on around her. Her ears were ringing painfully, and she heard something about about blood loss before the world started spinning before passing out... but, surprisingly, she welcomed it. The pain had stopped... and instead she just felt nothing. She'd wake up soon, hopefully... but for now the peace was nice.
